An Announcement from The Ship ❤️
Unfortunately, this isn't the post we ever wanted to write.
Over the past few weeks we've done everything we possibly could to keep our doors open, and we'd like to say a huge thank you to every single person who came in to support us during August. Whether you joined us for a cocktail, a glass of wine, a sharing board or simply wished us well, it meant more than you know.

Sadly, after another completely unexpected setback last night alongside renovations needing done sooner rather than later...

We have made the incredibly difficult decision to close our doors for now.

We sincerely hope this isn't goodbye forever. Once the building is ship-shape again (pardon the pun!) we'd love nothing more than to make a comeback. But for now, it's time to step away and regroup.

If you had a booking or were due to attend one of our upcoming events, you should have received an email from us. If you haven't, please check your spam folder first. If there's still nothing there, pop us an email at [email protected] as we may have taken your email address down incorrectly.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in us, supporting us and being part of this chapter. We truly hope we'll have the chance to welcome you back through our doors one day.

Reduced Opening Hours This Weekend 🥂
Just a little update for this weekend's opening hours:

🍸 Saturday 29th – Open from 4:00pm
🍷 Sunday 30th – Open from 4:00pm

Was such a pleasure to have the 'Buttercup Brigade' 😜 in for cocktails after their afternoon tea 💕🍸

We have so much to offer in Kinghorn

Our guests who attended our Afternoon Tea yesterday, finished the afternoon with cocktails at The Ship Wine and Cocktail Bar 🍸🍹

Fresh from the oven. Every day.

One thing that hasn't changed at The Ship is our belief that the little details matter.

Yesterday's bread:
Rosemary & Sea Salt Focaccia
Garlic & Herb Loaf
Rye and wholemeal seeded loaf

These were all made by hand in-house using fresh ingredients (the rosemary picked straight from our garden!) There's something incredibly satisfying about getting hands-on in the kitchen and seeing these come out of the oven each morning.

Our breads are served alongside our sharing platters, olives, hummus and other savouries to enjoy with your drinks.

Now we need your help...

What flavour would you choose: Garlic & Herb, Rosemary & Sea Salt, Olive, Cheese, Chilli, Sun-dried Tomato
Or is there another flavour you'd love to see on the menu?

For our gluten-free guests, I'm currently experimenting with homemade bread options too. Because we have a small kitchen, I do need to be honest that cross-contamination can never be guaranteed against, so if you're highly sensitive or coeliac, please bear this in mind.
If you have any allergy or intolerance, please pop a note on your booking or let us know when you arrive. We'll always do everything we can to accommodate you safely.

What a wonderful first night! 🥂

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported us for our very first evening as The Ship Wine & Cocktail Bar. The atmosphere was exactly what we'd hoped for, and it was so lovely to see so many familiar faces (and a few new ones too!).

We really hope you enjoyed what we had to offer.
I had every intention of taking loads of photos of the food and cocktails throughout the evening... but you all kept me so busy that these are the only two I managed to get! 😂

Featured here are two of our sharing boards heading out to a table and one of our freshly made Mojitos.

One thing that will never change at The Ship is our commitment to quality. Just as we always did with our food, we believe cocktails should be made properly too. That means fresh mint, fresh lime, freshly squeezed juices and no pre-packaged cocktail mixes ever.

And for our designated drivers and non-drinkers, we haven't forgotten about you! Our No-jito is made with all the same fresh ingredients, just without the alcohol, so everyone can enjoy a proper cocktail experience.

The glamorous side of opening a wine and cocktail bar... research! 😉

One thing you'll quickly learn about us is that we take our wine selection very seriously.

We don't just choose wines from a catalogue. We taste every single one ourselves to make sure we'd be proud to pour it for you.

A huge thank you to Andrew at for all his expert guidance, recommendations and patience while we sampled our way through some fantastic wines.
