Not good enough RSA Insurance Group! The plaque has been missing since 2018 and the lighting hasn't worked fully in 6 1/2 years. The people of Horsham have watched you manage the Spire's decline since 1988, rather than ensure it is always looking it's best. Many people locally from the Memories of Horsham group whom have over 15k members, amongst many other locals, have expressed an interest to view inside since it's closure in 1993 as a florist after your proposal to have the ground floor and spire converted on the 17th of February 1992, yet the response from your technical services manager (we will leave un-named) and the company you get to look after all of your owned landmarks has mentioned that in fact you have let Bridges Memorial Spire out as part of a larger lease. The last time proper maintenance was carried out to clean and restore the damaged masonry work including the sculptures and lighting was 2009 when the scaffolding was last up. Since then reports of much damage from bird guano, corrosion and deterioration to the brick work has taken place, including the area it sits in. Since it is Horsham Town Centre and the rest of the Horsham District's year of culture, perhaps you can ensure that the official centre point of Horsham is cleaned up, lit up properly to the very top of the 141ft tipped with cockerel weather-vane and perhaps paid for from the contributions you have received from letting this out alongside a much larger lease. We will see, since we have had a mere 4 responses back from you since 2016. The ball is in your St Mark's Court 😉
