.dj has been a friend and supporter of MELODÏQ almost since the very beginning. Sometimes there’s a shared feeling or energy when you meet someone, and you know they will play a part in the journey. A love for community building was our instant connection.
As a radio show host on , deeply embedded in London’s Melodic House movement - Tris has honed his skills, knowledge and love for the scene from the inside out. It's a cliched phrase, but so fitting, that he’s every bit an old head on young shoulders.
Some of the valuable things Tris mentions he’s picked up through radio are the ability to adapt, mix quickly and reliably on the fly, and of course understand how to engage with his audience. Things which can now feel like a lost art in a time where quick-fix / hack culture is taking a dangerous hold.
Having already gained recognition through his radio work, Tris was invited to open the show for Franky Wah, one of his musical heroes, who had a very formative effect, inspiring his love for the type of deep and emotive house music typified by the Anjunadeep label. Some more recent influences for his own productions, he notes as Trilucid and Hessian.
Not only has he become a staple name across the Midlands and London, playing with the likes of Chris Luno, Jody Wisternoff, Because of Art and recently gracing the decks at Ministry of Sound..Tris has always had his focus on building his own dancefloor on his home turf in Nottingham where he’s founded the now well-respected .notts which literally takes place in a cave!
Tris brings his trademark sound and energy to the DBA courtyard on Saturday 15th August for a long overdue coming together of worlds. We can’t wait.
Entry is free till 6pm. Ticket only. See bio or RA for links.
