Tonight we welcome Confute (Bedrock/GEM Records/Japanese Popstars) to Flat 0/1 for the start of our last few parties.. 10pm-3am, Free entry, rapid techno to start the weekend!!
So to kick off our last few parties this Thursday coming (26th) we have no other than Confute!! The Derry-born electronic music producer & DJ, Gary Curran continues his onslaught on underground music via his carefully crafted new concept, 'Confute'.
Brainchild of Gary and friends, The Japanese Popstars were born in 2006, becoming Gary's sole focus and musical outlet in the 8 years that followed.. The Japstars seen Gary play at some of the biggest festivals and clubs in the world and putting out releases on highly respected labels including Virgin EMI, Ministry of Sound, Strictly Rhythm, Gung-Ho and Bedrock Records.
3 studio albums, a live album and catalogue of remixes (including reworks for Beyonce, Pete Tong, Daft Punk, Dépêche Mode and Kylie Minogue) inspired further projects and collaborations with Green Velvet among others.
Needless to say, his recent work has found favour with the industry's most respected stalwarts, including Sasha, John Digweed, Maceo Plex, James Zabiela and Stephan Bodzin.
On the DJ front, while Confute is a new adventure for Gary, he is certainly not short of experience when it comes to rocking the world's most discerning dancefloors recently supporting Adam Beyer in Dublin and having donned the headphones at the Terrazza 'Space' Ibiza, ‘Government’ Toronto, ‘The Loft’ in Razzmatazz, Barcelona, Pacha NYC, Fabric London and ‘Vision ‘Japan to name but a few.
