Our members are given the chance to take part in the world of electronic music in every way possible - from attending the club nights, DJing at our workshops, events and socials, coming on trips to Motion and Love Saves The Day in Bristol, tuning into our radio show on XpressionFM, or learning music production… - you can get involved at any level. At our monthly parties at the Cavern we regularly
showcase acts from the world of Techno, Garage, Hip Hop, Drum and Bass, Disco, House, Grime and all the places in between. In the last two years we’ve hosted a diverse range of acts including the likes of Walton, Split Prophets, Madam X, Tessela and The Busy Twist, to name a few. Our residents play a mix of genres as eclectic as our bookings; balancing crowd-pleaser anthems and tunes that are slightly more off the beaten track. On top of our club nights, which members always get half-priced tickets for, we work in partnership with many of the promoters in Exeter to get you discounts to some of the biggest gigs in the city. You’re also able to join us on our trips to Bristol which can be handy if your housemates don’t have the spare cash to tag along to an event further afield. Whether it’s your first time coming on a night out with us or your tenth, all music-lovers alike are welcome to come and join in the good vibes. Our workshops run twice a month at Kay House where we are more than happy to offer relaxed coaching and tips on both DJing and music production, regardless of whether you are a complete beginner or would like to improve your skills in a certain area. There are plenty of opportunities to showcase your DJing skills at our socials and maybe even our club nights. We thrive off people getting involved and will welcome anyone who wishes to do so with open arms – so, if you are a DJ, please send us a mixtape; and if you are a producer, please send us some tunes! Since the society’s creation in 2005 Beats and Bass, has had the privilege of showcasing some of the greatest headliners from the UK’s dance music scene and helping to connect students who share a passion for club music. Dance music is about every type of person coming together to enjoy a shared experience; we hope you’ll join us.
