We have taken the difficult decision to close Bon Vivant. Despite the commitment of our team and the loyalty of our guests, growing economic pressures mean that continuing to trade is no longer commercially viable. We have chosen to close now to
give our customers as much time as possible to make alternative arrangements for the Christmas period.

Provision has been made to return all customer deposits in full, and our team is contacting affected bookings to arrange refunds and assist with rebooking at alternative venues. We are deeply grateful for the support we have received over the years.

From 24 Nov – 24 Dec, our festive menus return: £40pp for three courses, served 12:00pm till 3:45 and then again 4:00pm until 9:15pm. Parties of ≤5 may choose À La Carte or the Festive Menu; groups of 6+ dine from our Festive Set Menu.

Choose any two courses: starter + main or main + dessert.

Start with heritage tomatoes & basil, a haggis cigar with whisky sauce, or smoked salmon with crème fraîche, then follow with pork schnitzel, tagliatelle & burrata, or cured mackerel.

Prefer something sweet instead of a starter? Think pistachio crème brûlée, eton mess, or chocolate & popcorn crémeux.

Bon Vivant: n. pl. bons vi·vants (bô v-vä) A person with refined taste, especially one who enjoys superb food and drink.

The Bon Vivant was opened in September 2008 by Stuart McCluskey, with an idea to create an environment that was similar to those found on the continent; where dining is often informal and casual yet of a very high standard.

Our food philosophy is a selection of simple but well executed dishes that focus on flavour and quality produce. We do as the Europeans do, eat small but with thought. Whether you fancy a bottle of Champagne, a pint, or a wee dram with friends, The Bon Vivant aims to cater for all tastes. We are open 12pm – 1am. Food served daily 12pm – 10pm (Sunday till 9pm).
