✨✨to avoid confusion this isn’t The Selkie it’s our event space two doors up - we had a wee cake shop there but it didn’t work out. The Selkie is very much alive and well. ✨✨

Hi folks after much consideration we have decided that we just don’t have the time and resource to build what we had planned in Edna-Mae.
It’s a cute little shop in Exchange Street and has full permission and would be ideal as a hairdresser or beauty therapist.
It does have permission as a cake shop to and seats around 18.
No licence and no facilities for one.
We are open to
Someone buying the lease and fittings
Someone subletting for a period of time
Pop-up shops with a weekly rent

It would make a beautiful lifestyle shop, clothing shop or hairdresser…

Brunch Club is Back - group Chats at the ready.

June 14th marks the 5th anniversary of our infamous brunch parties so we thought we should celebrate in the only way we know …

When we started these were a break from the madness of Covid and basically a wee time out . We have managed to keep the same team Billy Morris and William - Patrick, added a sax player and dancers and always kept the magic alive.

Tickets - £90 full inclusive with £40 deposit paid at bokking. Non -alcohol option is £75

Early bird by Tuesday 18th £80, deposit of £40.

Tickets are transferable but not refundable. I’m expecting these to go fast- so first come first served.

Our brunches are the full package and a great way to celebrate, have fun and just let your hair down.

⭐️⭐️Hi folks I need a wee help⭐️⭐️
I don’t think I have ever been so humbled in my entire life. In the Selkie we have gifted over 12000 meals in the last 6 years.
I felt hopeless when I lost my Aunty to herion, She wasn’t just my Aunty She was my best friend/sister and at time my mother figure.
So much of what I do is driven by a fear of going back to poverty and a desire to make her proud.
When I gave her eulogy I said - I don’t know how to be me without you (she was 4 years older than me) but I now know I will never be me if I forget you.
Hospitality to me is absolutely how I feed my children but it also gives me the ability to help feed others and for that I am eternally grateful. Everyday people trust us in what sometimes seems to be the hardest time- they trust us to ask for a wee help. And I’m so lucky that for now I can help.

After the passing of my dad, the shop has been left in my hands. This place means everything to our family, and I’m doing everything I can to keep it going.
Right now, it’s just me in the shop with a few empty chairs, and I won’t lie—it’s tough. But I’m not giving up on what my dad built.

As a side note can I genuinely say all of us on Exchange Street , would love to see you guys. This wee street has some of the best food options in Dundee.

We have everything from breakfast/ brunch , take-away or sit-in. We have Polish Food, rainbow bagels , Ozzie treats, Italian plates, posh takeaways and brilliant tapas and small plates.

On top of that we are all family owned and operated, a truly independent wee street with parking.

Hello, Merry Christmas and we hope you have all had a brilliant restful period. We had so many donations at each shop and so many people just wanting to be involved - as ever it just shows how amazing our customers are.

Customers ranging from The first Minsiter John Swinney MSP , Gillispea and the legend McGregor. We also had the brilliant Selkie Folks who never let us down, Mrs Mitchell who always brings in selection boxes be socks, Mrs Hogan who comes for lunch and no matter what brings in a wee extra. And in fact about 100 other people who brought in goodies. I’m so sorry we didn’t get everyone’s names but we genuinely appreciate everyone of you.

No matter what is happening in this crazy world one thing I’m pretty certain about is most people are fundamentally good and want to do something for others - all we do is act as a catalyst and help make it easier.

Everyone wants to spread some magic at this time of year and everyone has a wee bit of Santa Clause in them.

Thank you for being the best customers and thank you for allowing us to help make Christmas that wee bit better for the local children.

After much thought we have decided to do a little give back each month and we are open to ideas. Have a brilliant festive season and we hope to see you very soon.
