Hey troops,
After the announcement of Kings closing this afternoon, weβll sadly have to take a short break from hosting events whilst we source a new home for our parties.
Itβs no secret the nightlife industry as a whole is struggling badly right now. Nearly half of all nightclubs in the UK have closed down in the last ten years. Unfortunately, another one falls today. Dundee hasnβt been the same since COVID hit, and despite having some belter nights with you lot (the vast majority in our privileged case), the reality of event promotion is bleak overall.
Weβd like to thank the Kingsβ staff for being a pleasure to work with over the past year and a half, from on cash desk, our sound technician, Omar on the lights & everyone behind the bar - youβre all a credit to yourselves and we wish you all the absolute bestβ€οΈ
For us, this is by no means a goodbye or a farewell post, far from it in fact. Weβve had such a ball over the last 4 years putting on some legendary parties in Dundee. We just need a little time to reassess our options and come back the best version of Kolektiv we possibly can.
In the meantime, buy presale tickets (keep promoters alive), go to that locals night youβre always on the fence about (it keeps your favourite club open), and go let some stress out on a dance floor (itβs good for your mind & soul).
