13 years ago, the SocialMix journey started! Although at the time we had no branding whatsover, it was simply Roddy's Cocktails.

The aim was always to make all guests and hosts happy with a cocktail or two and enhance their party experience that litte bit extra special!

From cocktail parties of 5 or 500 people, we have covered miles and miles and have made tonnes of cocktails in our journey always staying true to our style and keeping our originality.

Loads of ups that we celebrated and some downs that taught us lessons along the way, we kept pushing it forward even when the tank was empty.

The industry is going through a bit of a change so adapting to it once again is much needed to remain in business.

Thank you all of for supporting us throughout the years by hiring us, ordering locktails during lockdown, recommending us, liking, commenting or sharing our posts. Every little helps.

A massive thank you to all the staff who have worked with us and embraced the brand on their sleeve across the years. You are all legends and we couldn't be here without you.

Let's not forget all the brands and establishments who always looked after us, looked up to us and treated us with respect. You know who you are.

Here is to many more cocktails, many more parties and many more celebrations all together.

The Gibson 🧅🍸

A Gibson is a classic, savory martini variation, traditionally made with gin, dry vermouth, and a pickled onion garnish. It is known for being crisp, clean, and often stirred rather than shaken to maintain a smooth texture.

Classic Gibson Recipe
2.5 oz (75ml) Gin (London Dry recommended)
0.5 oz (15ml) Dry Vermouth
1–3 Pickled Cocktail Onions (for garnish)

Instructions:
Chill: Place a martini or coupe glass in the freezer for 10-15 minutes before mixing.

Combine: Add the gin and dry vermouth to a mixing glass filled with ice.

Stir: Stir well for about 20-30 seconds until very cold.
Strain: Strain into the chilled glass.

Garnish: Garnish with one or three pickled onions on a cocktail pick.
