The whole place, their people, no strangers, no clearing up after. Booked by the one in the group chat who finally said “right, I’m sorting it.”

Be that one. It’s three steps:
we have a chat, you lock the date, we handle the planning while you handle the group chat.

Then you plan the outfit and turn up.
Birthdays, engagements, leaving dos, “we survived the year”. Any reason will do. We’re not fussy.

Next minute there’s a six foot skeleton in the middle of the supermarket and it’s dark by seven.

Nobody agreed to this.

And if your birthday lands anywhere between now and Christmas, we need a word.

Because right now it’s “I’ll sort something nearer the time”.

Then it’s November.

Then every Saturday’s been claimed by someone’s Christmas do.

Then it’s “maybe we’ll just go out in January”.

The jumpers are back in the shops.
It was dark before the Bake Off started.
And someone in your house has already said the word ‘cosy’.

Summer is officially a distant memory, and that’s fine, because cocktails were never seasonal.

Tonight it’s Just Jungle from 9.

The bar’s warm, the bass is loud, and Friday works exactly the same as it did in July.

And yes, we’re open Saturday too.
