A New Chapter, Built on a Great Legacy
For many years, The Lane Bar was more than just a venue. It was a place where friendships were formed, celebrations were shared, live music was enjoyed, and countless memories were made. It became a familiar and much-loved part of Carlisle's social scene, and that legacy deserves to be remembered.
As custodians of this historic venue, we have chosen to preserve this page as a tribute to The Lane Bar and the people who made it special. We would like to thank the former owners, staff, musicians, performers, and customers who all played a part in its story.
While The Lane Bar has now passed into history, the venue itself continues its journey.
Today, the same building at 18 Fisher Street is home to Crown Lane Cellar, an independent cocktail, wine and live music venue inspired by the building's character, history and sense of community.
We warmly invite everyone who has ever enjoyed a night at The Lane Bar to join us as we write the next chapter of this remarkable venue's story.
