The very best in cutting edge dance music, from some of the most talked about artists in the industry, all set in uniquely intimate surroundings, giving you the opportunity to see some of the best in the business, up close & personal... Bristol based underground club night which, following it's inception in 2005, has gone on to establish itself as one of the South West's premier dance music events

Sister night of Bristol clubbing instituions 'Prominence' and 'The Funk Boat', 'EQ' started life as a weekly Saturday night event entitled 'Electroquisite' at the outset of the electro-house explosion, before subsequently settling into a monthly residency just a year later at its spiritual home 'Timbuk2'. It quickly earned a reputation as one of the most forward thinking clubnights in the country, bringing an entirely new breed of exciting & talented artists to the city, many of which for the very first time. Initial guests consisted of acts widely considered to be amongst the pioneers of the electro-house era... artists such as Chris Lake, Dirty South, Micky Slim, Dave Spoon & Tocadisco, all of whom made their Bristol debuts...
The night offered the clubbing fraternity a unique opportunity to see some of the very best in the business, up close & personal, and in surroundings of a more intimate nature...
.. and it was this very concept, together with a groundbreaking musical foundation provided by some of the city's most talented residents in Luke Langson, Alex Clark and the now internationally accredited DJ & Producer Will Bailey, that the night achieved unrivaled levels of popularity in a relatively small amount of time; reaching capacity crowds each & every mointh, with queues of revellers stretching the length & breadth of the street outside, and building a regular & loyal following along the way... a following that remains today. In line with the ever-evolving dance music scene, the night was rebranded 'EQ' in 2008 as its musical influences drew less so solely from the electro-house sound, but instread from the entire spectrum of dance & electronica as a whole... Despite this evolution however, the night's ethos of showcasing some of the industry's most talked about and sought after DJ's & producers remained true, with established acts such as Paul Woolford, Nic Fanciulli, Laidback Luke & Tom Neville, being complemented by more emerging talents, such Arno Cost, Spirit Catcher, Rene Amesz & Kris Menace. In 2010, after 5 long years during which time it consistently remained one of Bristol's top clubnights, EQ took a break from hosting monthly events in order to concentrate on new projects, and specifically the development of new sister night 'Revolution'. However, the night returned to huge success in October that same year, as it hosted it's traditional birthday celebration featuring yet another exclusive Bristol debut, this time from Michael Woods...
In fact, so successful was that event, it was repeated to even greater acclaim some 12 months later as EQ reached it's 6th anniversary, seemingly as popular as ever...
.. and now, after 24 months in hiatus, and following overwhelming popular demand, EQ will be reborn in March 2012, still championing the very same ethos it has held since it its conception way back of 2005... to showcase the very best acts in the business in uniquely intimate surroundings... but also with the promise of filling the open void in Bristol's social scene which has been so very prevalent in recent times!
