The Arch has been conceptualised with the distinct mission of revamping and overhauling the space to once again to rejuvenate Brighton’s night life and restoring its former glory as the centre of the South’s underground movement. A venue that has been host to the worlds

finest DJ’s including Fatboy Slim, Carl Cox, Annie Mac, Deadmau5, Jamie Jones, Sven Vath and many more has been rebuilt, rebranded and reignited with forward thinking and experimental music policies.

Every artist has the records that stay with them. The tracks they come back to, the albums that shaped their taste, the artists that continue to inspire their sound.

Ahead of GROUNDWORK 001, we’re asking each artist to share one track, one album and one artist that reflects where they’re at right now.

First up: Oldboy. The Manchester based DJ, producer and co-founder of Swingers has carved out a sound rooted in the nostalgic energy of early UK Garage and House, blending old school tech house grooves with cheeky garage rhythms. With releases on Dr Banana, Instinct, Locus and Hardline, and appearances across the UK, Europe and Australia, he’s become a respected name in the underground.
