2023 was the year that life affirmed the love that society has and what it means to be a community. Without the help of the bartender community hosting the bar whilst I was unable to walk after ankle surgery we would never be celebrating today. My eternal gratitude to all of the wonderful people and bars that got me through.

Also the year that Joan was being recorded in the JQ. One night Sophie Turner came in for drinks and we took her out to see our favourite haunts in the JQ. Three weeks later she filed for divorce from Joe Jonas. Not saying we had anything to do with it but..

2020 was kinda weird, no? Didn’t have getting death threats for serving frozen gin after Birmingham Mail decided they’d take a wide angle zoomed in photo from the other side of the square to make it seem like we were taking the p**s by giving people the chance of a little bit of joy during lockdown on my bingo strike card for the year, to be honest. The final Spring menu of 2025. Personal favourites were the Gooseberry Gimlet, Say Less, and the Banana Colada. Really enjoyed the Hibiscus Cooler from earlier on in the season, with Hibiscus Vodka, Raspberry, Pomegranate, and a Lemon Soda. Classically driven drinks with technique, flair, and proper nomnom moments. Summer 25 has started strong so far, with a few drinks making it over to the next few months (Gilt - the best alcoholic Lilt you’ve ever had amongst them).
