Subculture

Subculture The official Facebook of the UK's biggest rock club - Subculture! :) Jagerbombs at £2.50 or 3 Jagerbombs for just £6.00! VS bottle (any flavour) for just £1.50!

Subculture is Birmingham’s longest running and biggest rock club and takes place every week at The Rooftop Birmingham (part of the legendary Q Club) in Birmingham (opposite Victoria Law Courts or the old Sound Bar). If you haven't been to The Rooftop yet you're in for a treat as it's very similar to the late lamented Vudu and for those a little older it also has an XLs feel to it as well. Subcultu

re will occupy the two plush rooms at the heart of the club every week and then on bigger event nights we will also add the larger 'Chapel' & ‘’Art Lounge’ to the club so everyone can get in and enjoy the experience. Subculture's two rooms will feature all the best in current & classic tunes from the genres of rock, pop-punk, hardcore, metal, alternative, ska, goth, indie & fun tunes from our team of resident and new guest DJs. Plus, our smoking terrace (probably the coolest smoking area to be found in any club in the city centre) will be a rad place to hang out with a background of chilled cheese for wintry nights and grilled cheese for those balmy summer nights with occasional DJ's dropping in to entertain the smokers! Subculture holds regular event nights so always check our events page for the latest information! Subculture features the following great drinks offers in a stunning, yet homely, venue perfectly in tune with the independent alternative lifestyle you all lead:
Pints of Carling or Strongbow for just £2.50!
2.25 Pint pitchers of Carling or Strongbow for just £4.00! Carlsberg bottle for just £1.50! Jack Daniels & mixer for just £2.75/Double Jack Daniels & mixer for just £3.75! If you’re a rock fan from the age of 20-70 then if you’re going anywhere else in Birmingham tonight then you’re making a huge mistake because the soundtrack of your youth is all coming together tonight at Subside!

The doors are already open and tonight, Saturday May 17th, we celebrate 40 years of putting on the best rock nights in Birmingham.

From the humble beginnings in the function room of The Three Horseshoes in Stirchley (now the Bournbrook Inn) which led to the opening of the original Edwards on April 18th 1987, through XL's, The Xposure Rock Cafe, the original Institute (pre-O2), Electric Chair at Tressines, Subculture at the Carling & O2 Academys, The Cult Club at various locations, Vudu, and of course Subside, now in its 18th year since inception, we will be taking you on a journey of those 40 years both musically and visually bringing back memories for you all!

And for the first time we are bringing the DJ's from those 40 years all together for one night here at Subside!

The night begins at 8:30pm and the DJs include

Respect sir!

John Conway was on holiday in Bali when he climbed into the active volcano to save life of badly-injured Brummie tourist
