Island opened it's door in September 2006. Island is not your typical cocktail bar; set up on DIY ethics with the intention of injecting a little glamour, a lot of soul and absolutely no pretension into the Birmingham nightlife scene, the bar has proved a real hit. We've taken away all of the stuffy nonsense of traditional cocktail bars, instead preferring to focus on what matters - the cocktails.

You won't find any packet mixes or pitchers of slosh here, just real cocktails made individually by hand by our experts. We've won numerous awards and accolades from the Birmingham Bar and Club awards, Night Times and we voted one of the top 50 bars in the UK by the Independent on Sunday. Our upstairs function room is also Birmingham's first Tiki Bar. A tropical paradise which is open regularly for you to enjoy our specially designed Tiki menu full of Polynesian inspired fruit cocktails and over 50 different kinds of rum. It can also be hired out for free (subject to a deposit and minimum spend) for you to celebrate in style.

Hello Brothers and Sisters.. its T-Bird from Takin' Care Of Business just sliding on to the Island Bar's page to send a massive THANKYOU from me and Carlton and all the DJ's that have had the honour of dj'n there over all these past years..
To be able to play tunes for you and see you dance and lose your mind always meant the world to us all.. we cant thank you enough for all the kind words, support and move bustin'..
Island Bar was a massive part of all of our lives and we all put our heart and soul into the Friday and Saturday nights. It was with great sadness when we learnt that Island was closing its doors and it hit us all hard.
We want to thank the managers and staff as well that have worked alongside us all to provide you with the top Weekends we all remember..
Obviously, its not over as we're gonna be spinnin' the winners at The Victoria so lets party on when normality returns..

ANNOUNCEMENT

It is with great sadness and disappointment that we have decided to close the doors of Island Bar after nearly 14 years of cocktail fun and games.

The reasons are obvious with the COVID-19 pandemic destroying most of our business but also due to the lack of landlord support we received which has meant that the situation has been exacerbated and sadly we don't currently see any light at the end of the tunnel.

We'd like to thank all of our loyal guests and customers over the years for all your trade and support and to all of our staff, for their hard work, endurance and great humour.

We hope to continue to welcome you at our other Bitters N' Twisted Venues once they re-open in August.
