*SECOND LOT OF BIG NEWS*

After seven and a half years of Bears & Tales, both myself (Gareth) and Louisa have today handed the reigns of the bar over to a new owner to take B&T forward in their own vision.

We had a crazy idea to open a cocktail bar after previously running Luscious Juice Bar at our old premises on Lime St. Our aim was to serve amazing drinks to amazing people, with a sit down, almost restaurant like service and to do something that nowhere else in Bedford was doing.

A very chance meeting with a certain Tom Faden was the final piece of the puzzle and between us we created something we were all very proud of - a unique drinking hole.

We move on with very happy memories and can't wait to see where the new owner takes the business. We will be focusing all our energy into our main passion, Esquires and The Pad Presents. We just want to say a huge thank you to all of our customers for supporting us over the years and to all of the people that worked at Bears, especially Tom.

The new owner has some exciting plans which I'm sure he will share very soon - please support Bears & Tales when it reopens and we might see you at a gig or two in future.

After seven years at the helm, this weekend we say goodbye to our manager and head barman extraordinaire, Tom.

Tom has been a major part of the success of Bears & Tales since it's inception and leaves us for pastures new - we wish him nothing but the best on his exciting new adventure!

Come see him off in style - we are open the usual Thursday to Saturday this weekend, with Saturday 7th being his final shift.

Please note - we will be closed the following couple of weekends for staff training and to prepare the launch of a new menu.

We are open to all you lovely people all weekend, from 6-12.30am Thursday, Friday and Saturday! So, come on in for all your cocktail (and more) requirements.

Also, big news! Bears & Tales finally has some proper physical menus for you to look through. It’s been a long road with our QTAP phone ordering system, and for a lot of the last year or so it’s been seriously helpful to us in order to serve you all safely.

But, some of you were begging us for real menus, and it was time for us to listen.

Our QTAP system is still available to those that would prefer contactless ordering, so you now have the option of both!

Reservations are still available via the app, or text Tom direct on 0747168318!

Kia Ora Pilsner is a super refreshing, light brew stocked FULL of zesty New Zealand hops. Think of your favourite lager and then smash it together with bright citrus and tropical fruit goodness. And, at 5.2% it also packs a punch!

We’re open all weekend for the bank holiday, so come on down Thursday - Sunday from 6-12.30 and give the new brew a try!

Bears & Tales famous comedy sessions continue! Thursday the 28th of April is the night for all things cocktails and comedy.

This month, we welcome back the ever-giggle including Katie Price as our headliner, performing on our little stage amongst many of our favourite Bedford comedians.

Katie Price is a fast rising London based professional comic who reached the finals of the LGBTQ+ Comedian of the Year award. Unashamed to tackle important issues with her tongue in cheek charm and has been praised by many for her comedic writing.
