A Day We Will Cherish Forever 🤍✨
Sometimes, running a restaurant isn’t just about food.
Sometimes, it becomes part of someone’s life story.
A few days ago, a beautiful couple walked onto our terrace at Old Town Restaurant & Bar Frigiliana.
Warm smiles. Gentle energy. The kind of people who instantly make you feel good around them.
As we talked, they shared something special:
They were celebrating their 30th Wedding Anniversary. 🥂❤️
And in that moment, I knew I wanted this day to feel unforgettable for them.
So quietly, without saying much, I slipped away into the hills and gathered a small bouquet of fresh wildflowers by hand.
Our kitchen team prepared a surprise dessert with a chocolate heart.
We took a photo of them laughing together with the white village of Frigiliana behind them - and printed it instantly so they could take the memory home with them forever.
The whole restaurant could feel their happiness.
But nothing prepared me for what happened when they were leaving.
They came up to me smiling and placed a 20-euro note into my hands.
I immediately tried to refuse.
“It’s too much,” I said.
But gently, they stopped me.
“No… this is personally for you.”
Then they turned the note over.
Written carefully in Dutch were the words:
“Heel erg bedankt. Je hebt ons een onvergetelijke dag geschonken.” 🇳🇱💶
“Thank you so much. You gave us an unforgettable day.”
And honestly… I couldn’t stop the tears.
To Corné and Margreet - thank you for allowing us to become a tiny part of your beautiful 30-year love story.
Moments like this are why we do what we do.
Not just to serve food.
But to create feelings people carry home with them long after the table is empty. 🤍
