For Philipp 💔
Philipp Jung was an important part of the international house music scene. Whether as a DJ and producer together with his partner Patrick in M.A.N.D.Y. or as co-founder of Get Physical Music, he left a lasting mark on electronic music culture.
But above all, Philipp was an incredibly kind-hearted, warm, generous and unique human being who truly meant so much - not only to me, but to countless people around the world. His completely unexpected passing leaves an enormous void for all of us. Yet the greatest tragedy is that his partner, with whom he had found happiness in Costa Rica, is six months pregnant, and their child will now grow up without his father.
So this campaign is for his son.
Everything raised here will go into an fund for their child - to help with the months and years ahead, and to lay some extra solid support beneath a little life that will grow up hearing stories about a father he didn’t get to meet.
Anything you can offer - a dollar, a share, a memory left in the comments - becomes part of what holds them up.
We know grief moves in waves, and that the world will, in time, return to its rhythms. But the family will be carrying this for the rest of their lives, quietly, long after the headlines fade.
