Liebe Gäste,
wir wollen euch eine kurze Erklärung geben, warum das DarkSide Berlin zur Zeit unerwartet geschlossen ist. Wir haben uns Aufgrund inakzeptablen Verhaltens in mehreren Belangen vor einiger Zeit von einer Person trennen müssen, die hier nicht weiter genannt werden soll. Wir wissen nun, dass diese Person eine Prüfung des DarkSide Berlin durch diverse Ämter, darunter das Bauamt, veranlasst hat. Bei einer Begehung durch einen Brandschutzexperten ist aufgefallen, dass unser zweiter Fluchtweg Aufgrund einer angrenzenden Schmelze/Ofen eines Nachbargewerbes sehr warm ist. Dies hätte eventuell zur Folge, dass Gäste, die im Brandfall über diesen Weg flüchten würden, umkehren, weil die Hitze sie glauben macht, dass der Brand in dieser Richtung liegt.
Eure Sicherheit ist dem DarkSide Berlin natürlich ein sehr wichtiges Anliegen, deshalb haben wir im Moment geschlossen und arbeiten mit Hochdruck daran dieses Problem zu beheben. Leider können wir noch keinen konkreten Zeitpunkt für die Wiedereröffnung nennen, werden euch aber dann natürlich erneut informieren.
Wir möchten uns für die Unannehmlichkeiten insbesondere bei den Gästen entschuldigen, die vor verschlossener Türe standen. Zudem möchten wir uns bei den zahlreichen Gästen bedanken, die uns ihre Hilfe angeboten haben.

We want to give you a short explanation why the DarkSide Berlin unexpectedly has to keep the doors closed at the moment. A while ago we saw ourselves forced to sever ties with a person who showed inacceptable behavior in various matters and whose name will not be mentioned.
We now know that this person made sure to put the DarkSide Berlin through a few examinations carried out through agencies and public authorities as well as Berlin Building Department.
During the inspection of our building with the fire prevention- and fire protection authorities, it was noted that our second emergency exit might feel irritatingly warm (due to a high temperature oven in the neighbor building) so that it could result in guests fleeing through that exit, mistaking the warmth as fleeing towards the source of fire and turning back.
Your safety in the DarkSide Berlin is our highest concern so we closed our doors to solve this problem as thorough and as quick as possible. We ensure you to put all our efforts in offering you as fast as possible a safe place to return to.
Right now we are not able to release a date we will reopen again but will inform you of course first hand.
We apologize for the inconveniences this has caused, especially to our guests standing in front of closed doors. And also want to thank all the countless guests and friends offering their help.
