THE RETURN OF PSYCHO-JONES
DISCO 2000 was a Song by the Genius Britpoppers “PULP”, the Band around crazy androgyne Dandyboy JARVIS COCKER... clever as he always was, after releasing the Song he prohibited all Britpop DJs to use the Title for their Parties. Of course the British DJs followed this Advice & most of the German Britpop DJs followed this as they wanted to act strictly British, as it was called back in the Days... But there was one German DJ who was laughing about the Guys who obeyed well-behaved & decided to call his first own regular 1998 Britpopparty “DISCO 2000 - THE RETURN OF PSYCHO-JONES”. The Subtitle came from one of his Short Stories back then & was more a Joke than a serious Idea or even the DJ Name of the Guy who was running this Britpopclub. It was only used to confuse the People & make them think about it. The Return of a Guy who never was there before. Total Nonsense... So who the Foo was this Guy called “Psycho-Jones”? People who didnt know the real Name of the DJ of course thought, that he must be this obviously crazy Freak “Psycho-Jones”. Well, that’s how it started. After Having “DISCO 2000” many times at a University Cafe in Mainz, the Party moved to the Red Cat Club & later to Schick&Schön in the same City, too. The Calibre moved to more Venues & Cities, even transformed into “Disco 2001” or “Disco 2002”. After the year 2000 of course real the Name was not that visionairy anymore as it used to be. The Newborn Badass Psycho-Jones invented many more Concepts with Indie Music. From “THE NEW POLLUTION” via “PANIC-KILL YR IDEALs” to “0815+”. After Indielectro & Nu Rave overrun the classic Indiemusic 90s Parties became popular & most alternative Concepts had hard Times to survive. So Psycho-Jones had a Rest with his classic Indieclubs for some Years & recently started “DISCO 2000” again. In Mainz, the City where it all started. Further Wiesbaden, Freiburg & Cologne.
For Brexit Reasons “DISCO 2000” is more relevant than ever...
