To our beautiful fans of our beloved Vertigo, as many you already know, we are very sad to announce that after 17 years and due to the global pandemic, we were left with no other choice but to close Vertigo at Centro Colon. We took on every challenge to keep Vertigo afloat during the shutdown, but as the pandemic is still among us, it has made it impossible for us to remain at Centro Colon, where the Gran Casa Roja was created.
It has been one incredible and beautiful journey and there are too many amazing moments to even mention here. What a ride, what a ride.
The list of people to thank and praise is quite long, but we must thank our management and staff who made every single event possible to have. Our entire staff was the absolute best. We’d also like to thank all of the agencies worldwide that chose to work with Vertigo by having us present their artists to San Jose. We would like to thank all of the promoters that brought their events to our venue over the years. A big thank you to all of the international artists that performed at Vertigo. It goes deeply appreciated that you all brought your talented performances that uplifted and changed the way of music in Costa Rica over the past 17 years. A big thanks to the local artists who graced our stage with your passion & love for music. Elisa and I extend a heartfelt thank you to the king of sound engineering and the masterful creator of our GSA sound system, our very special friend Mr. Gary Stewart. It is Gary’s all analog sound system that is the soul and core of Vertigo, which placed us as #7 in the best sounding clubs in the world (Mixmag). As they say, save the best for last. The best is you, the fans! You came to our doors and danced on our floor all night long weekend after weekend, month after month, year after year. Elisa and I took the greatest pleasure of watching you smile, laugh, dance, sing.. That’s all we ever wanted for you, which was to bring you happiness in the form of the beautiful music on a spiritual journey. The ultimate ride. To the fans, we say thank you very much for holding Vertigo high for 17 years and making her the queen that she was.
The future remains to be seen. We ask that you stay optimistic for the future of music venues to once again emerge in Costa Rica. The music never stops and the show will go on.
Our GSA sound system remains in our possession, and it’s quite possible that someday soon we will find a new home for our system in Costa Rica.
AMOR
