Angkorian Art and Historic Artifacts Exhibition at Capital Museum

For more than 2,000 years, Cambodia absorbed influences from India, passing them on to other Southeast Asian civilizations that are now Thailand and Laos. Around the 13th century, monks from Sri Lanka introduced Theravada Buddhism to Southeast Asia.The religion spread and eventually displaced Hinduism and Mahayana Buddhism as the popular religion of Angkor.

Now 80 pieces of Cambodian historic artifacts dated back to the Angkorian ear (9-14th century) are being displayed at capital museum until March 25. All of them are sent from Cambodia National Museum for a once-in-lifetime exhibition. Among them there are figurines of Hindu pantheon, statues of Buddhas and Terra-cottas.

A good event to check out if you found nothing to do for the Chinese New Year yet don't want to cram into the temple fairs. And it's free.
