Our Story
Venha Dancar Com a Gente! Kevin Boyle, also known as DJ Silky Smooth, is a veteran in the music and dance scene. DJ Silky Smooth showcases a broad style that encompasses every genre of Kizomba while experimenting with new tracks to keep the dance floor fresh and fun.
Dj Silky Smooth specializes in the funkiest, most groovilicious Kizomba, UrbanKiz, Ghettozouk, Tarraxinha and Semba tracks on the planet with R&B, Afro, Latin and traditional influences for a delicious mix that has been described as: “a euphoric concoction of Silky Smooth R&B vibes, high energy, and solid bass lines”.
His passion for creative mixing and entertaining stems back to his 20s when he played for large University of Calgary crowds. Fast track to 2015, when DJ Silky Smooth brought his musical prowess to the Vancouver and Seattle Kizomba dance scenes.
To name a few, DJ Silky Smooth’s list of accomplishments in both Canada and the US includes: host and organizer of Vancouver’s longest running Kizomba night, Silky Smooth’s Friday (formally known as Kizouka Vancity); DJ for the Vancouver Dance Congress (2016); guest DJ at Century Ballrooom (Seattle); DJ for the inaugural Only Dance Festival 2017 (Seattle); and DJ as well as one of the Festival DJ’s for Vancouver’s Kiztopia 2017/2018 and 2019 (Vancouver). DJ Silky Smooth has also released a total of six CDs featuring the best of the best remixes. His 6th CD "Bad Kizombriero" was released on Nov 1st, 2018.
