NSSB Friends,
For those of you who have been part of our dance community since it's inception in the early 90's and beyond, you will no doubt remember Billy Sutherland, one of NSSB 's main organizers and dancers. Billy stood out -- in height, his warm welcoming smile and laugh and his ballroom dance abilities as a follow.
We're very sad to announce that Billy died a few weeks ago. He will be missed by many dear friends including his church community. There will be a celebration of his life this coming Saturday November 2nd, at Christ Church Cathedral at Burrard and Georgia at 2 pm. Everyone is invited.
Billy loved to knit and in his memory people are invited to bring along their knitting and join a knitting meditation.
Attached are pictures of Billy and NSSB friends: Gay Games Amsterdam 1998 with NSSB's first instructor, Barry Stewart, in our blue & yellow Team Vancouver jackets. This was the 1st time Dance Sport was included in Gay Games. NSSB Dance Party at Let's Dance Studio, our Social Dance venue for many years. And of course, Billy in High Fem attire!
