My intention for Pride Sunday is to gather with friends and chosen family, create a meaningful Pride experience, and shake our beautiful butts with whatever energy we have left at that hour. I hope you arrive with intention, too, because this party can be your sacred moment, your playground, your release, or whatever you need it to be.
If you’re new to Night Tales, this party was designed to spotlight musical storytellers who bring a unique perspective and understand setting, nuance, and flow. This is a 100% DIY event committed to good sound, thoughtful lighting, and connection within our q***r dance community—yay—and disconnection from the material world—eww. Our musical collage spans dark, dreamlike, emotive, nocturnal, and natural-world narratives across the realms of house, acid, tribal, proggy house, trance, and techno.
This edition of Night Tales features q***r artists who help shape and sustain q***r dance communities both locally and beyond:
• Perfect Lovers— founder of the Por Detroit parties in Los Angeles and CDMX, and organizer of SOMOS, a q***r music festival held annually in Mexico.
• DJ dood — a busy bee. She is Programming Manager at Public Disco, Executive Assistant at Bass Coast, and the force behind local parties Full House and dood’s dancefloor.
• Ziggy Zaya — part of the Niche collective and lighting designer for The Birdhouse, Niche, and teXture.
• tenderwiggles — part of the Niche collective, always lending a hand with Niche and teXture setup and teardown, while also performing as one half of the duo Va**ng Mortal.
• Fisher Bryce — founder of Niche Underground and co-founder of teXture.
I hope you’ll join us to celebrate the final six hours of Pride with the people who help carry that spirit throughout the entire year.
