“Atithi Devo Bhav”
This Ancient Sanskrit term simply translates to
“Our Guest is Our God”
These three words beautifully sum up the philosophy that has driven the evolution of the Indian Sub-Continent. As early as 6000 B.C the Aryans arrived in the area and established themselves in the North and drove the original natives The Dravidians to the southern areas. And so began the influx of different cultures and beliefs that has been a catalyst in the evolution of this very varied and diverse culture. Since prehistoric times India has been the hub of the spice trade and was an important junction on the Silk Road which undoubtfully was the superhighway of trade and culture, in those times Caravans of traders, soldiers, travelers and philosophers travelled the various routes that connected Eastern Europe all the way to the Far East bringing about a flux that assimilated various Cultures, Civilizations and Beliefs, Thus playing an indelible part in the History of our world. SILK-the trade of which- this road is named after came into play much later; it was actually the magic of spices that drove traders on journeys across these ancient routes. Hence it is our Ode to this ancient Highway that we have named our establishment
THE SPICE TRAIL
The Spice Trail facilitated an immense interaction amongst the peoples of the areas it connected and in terms of the Culinary World it worked as magic, local cuisines were exposed to many outside influences and led to the use of varied ingredients and cooking styles and this brought about unimaginable revolution in the world of cuisine. We at The Spice Trail would like to introduce you to these varied influences and bring to your table a fusion of these tastes with your normal everyday food. We hope to refreshingly surprise you and hopefully get you enticed with this fusion.

Rainy day equals Indian food day!
There’s something about gloomy weather that makes a hot, comforting plate of Indian food taste even better.
And it’s not just comfort food! Indian cooking is packed with ingredients that can be part of a healthy, balanced diet: Turmeric & ginger .. natural anti-inflammatory compounds
Garlic & onions .. antioxidant-rich
Lentils & chickpeas ..plant-based protein and fibre
Fresh herbs & vegetables ...vitamins, minerals & antioxidants
Spices ..big flavour without needing tons of salt or sugar
So while the rain does its thing outside, come warm up with something delicious inside.
Rainy weather. Hot curry. Good food. Happy soul.
Come see us at Spice Trail and let us take care of dinner!
