It’s almost that time of year again!

Our Poppy campaign is quickly approaching! From October 24 to November 11, millions of Canadians wear a Poppy to honour Canada’s Veterans and Remember those who sacrificed for the freedoms that we enjoy today.

The Poppy is always distributed for free to all who wish to wear one. During the Poppy campaign, the Legion will gratefully accept donations to the Poppy Fund. Learn more about the Poppy campaign at: https://legion.ca/remembrance/the-poppy-campaign

Found this online and wanted to share with our Veterans.

Private Joshua James Klukie was born in Sudbury, raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario, and served with the 1st Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment. He was known by those who loved him for his kindness, loyalty, and deep appreciation for the outdoors.

On September 29, 2006, he was killed by an improvised explosive near Panjwaii, Afghanistan.

Today, we honour Private Klukie’s service and remember him as a son, friend and proud Canadian whose legacy continues to inspire. His sacrifice will never be forgotten, and we are grateful for all he gave in service to our country.
