From our Route 39 family,
Small town bars are different.
Theyβre not just places to grab a drink. They become where birthdays are celebrated, where friends reconnect after long weeks, where neighbours become family, and where memories are made one Thursday karaoke or Saturday night live show at a time.
Over the years, this place has grown into something much bigger than four walls and a bar top. It has become a home away from home for so many people, and for that, we are endlessly grateful.
With small towns also comes something else β gossip, rumours, and assumptions. Recently, there has been a lot said about this business and about the people behind it, much of it coming from hurt, anger, or bitterness, we also feel the pain from those who no longer walk beside us.
We want to say this openly and honestly:
Running a small business is not easy.
Running a business in a town where everyone knows everyone can sometimes feel even harder.
The truth is, no business is perfect. No owner is perfect. No team is perfect. We make mistakes, we learn, we grow, and every single day we continue trying to create a welcoming, safe, fun environment for this community.
What hurts the most is seeing negativity spread in a place built on connection and support.
We ask our community to remember that behind every rumour and every social media comment are real people β people who work long hours, sacrifice time with their families, stress over keeping doors open, supporting staff, booking entertainment, and making sure this little town still has somewhere to gather together.
Thursday karaoke nights.
Saturday live music.
Late night laughs.
First dates.
Breakup talks.
Birthday shots.
Dance floor memories.
Thatβs what this place is really about.
To every customer who has stood beside us, defended us, supported us, and continued walking through our doors β thank you. You are the reason we keep going.
We will continue showing up.
We will continue improving.
We will continue supporting local music, local people, and this community we love so much.
Most importantly, we will continue choosing kindness over gossip, growth over bitterness, and community over division.
With love and gratitude,
Route 39 Public House
