EN Dear Dzama cocktail lovers,

Your favourite bar needs your help !

Indeed, as you already know, the unprecedented period of the confinement has delayed the construction of our terrace which was supposed to welcome you this summer. Fortunately, last June, we had the chance to be allowed to serve you outside but without the brand new terrace. The project is to build a wooden retractable terrace and add new furniture. We ask for your generosity to accomplish the project. All the help is welcome and contributions are up to you. To thank you, Dzama will organize a launch event on Thursday October 8th. Every contributor will receive a free coktail, a rhum tasting and fingerfood.

The Dzama team thank you all in advance !

FR Chers Dzama cocktail lovers,

Dzama Cocktail Cafe Brussels

Dzama Cocktail Cafe may be opening it’s newest location in Brussels, Belgium, but its home will always be Madagascar. For the last thirty years and counting Dzama Rhum has been produced year after year by the hands of the local Malagasy inhabitants. A labor of love, community and extensive job growth on the island of Nosy-Bé, located North West of the Big Island of Madagascar.

Thanks to Lucien Fohine, the founder of Vizar and Dzama Rhum, the island thrives on the farming and distilling of sugar cane, currently representing between 15 and 20% of Malagasy agriculture.

And the name? Well, Lucien Fohine created Vidzar, the company that produces Dzama Rhum, installs it on the island of Nosy-Bé near the sugar factory and calls his rum Dzama, diminutive of the city of Dzamandzar, where the Rhum is produced. The name VIDZAR comes from the contraction of "Old Rum of Dzamandzar”, and in the north of Madagascar, "Zama" refers to the confidentiality of close friends. So, you hold in your hands, a brother, a confidant.

So there you have it. Dzama Rhum coming to you in your favorite cocktail, in your favorite cities, with more to come.
