Café d'Anvers (Official)

Café d'Anvers (Official) Born in 1989. Nightclub situated in a 16th-century old monastery in the middle of Antwerp's redlight district. 1989. Once inside, no limits.

In the Antwerp red light district prostitutes, pimps and potential customers suspiciously follow the opening of Café d'Anvers. In the past, on the very same location a cinema, a church, a dance hall with a track for dodgem cars and a warehouse opened... and closed again. The new club chose an "anything goes" policy: the crazier, the better. Who wanted to get inside, had to meet the severe selectio

n criteria at the entrance. The club made its name quickly. From everywhere youngsters came down to see for themselves how a 16th century old church suddenly became the epicenter of snazziness - or how top-dj's would fight for a night behind the decks @ Café d'Anvers. Turbulent times featuring drag queens, extravagant personalities and remarkable characters. What was never the intention, eventually happened: Café d'Anvers became a trendsetter. At the moment, Café d'Anvers is one of the few monuments kept in nightlife, which will never have to be protected because it preserves itself. Still on top of the game, with performances and dj-sets from the best dj's and producers in the world. A must when visiting Belgium and Antwerp!

While Café d’Anvers Open Air is still fresh in our minds, we’re already looking ahead and getting ready to relive that unique CDA atmosphere again, sooner than you might expect.

We’re more than excited to welcome one of the true icons of house music, Jaydee. To call Plastic Dreams a classic would be an understatement. For more than 30 years, Jaydee has been a defining force in nightlife worldwide, as a DJ, producer, radio host and much more.

CDA legends Sven Van Hees, Steve Cop and Latte complete the line-up, bringing their timeless knowledge and skills in house music to the dancefloor.

We can’t wait to reunite with you all on Saturday, September 26. Tickets are available now at traumclub.com.

Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, Felix Da Housecat is no longer able to perform at Café d'Anvers Open Air due to unforeseen travel complications. We tried everything to make it happen, but unfortunately, it wasn't possible.

While we're naturally disappointed, we're incredibly excited to welcome a true pioneer and one of the most influential names in house music as his replacement: Todd Terry.

A Grammy-nominated DJ, producer, and remixer, Todd Terry has been shaping dance floors around the world since the late '80s. From timeless classics like Can You Feel It and Keep On Jumpin' to legendary remixes for artists including Everything But The Girl, Björk, and George Michael, his impact on house music is simply unmatched. His signature New York sound continues to inspire generations of DJs and producers alike.

We're honoured to have a true house music legend join us for this special edition of Café d'Anvers Open Air, and we can't wait to dance with you all.

See you on the dancefloor. ❤️

Some people didn’t just manage the nights. They turned them into a playground of the unexpected.

Next in our Café d’Anvers archive series: Patrick Soks.

Together with Peter Decuypere, Patrick was the mastermind behind the iconic Paradise parties—the legendary club nights that defined the '90s. To him, Café d’Anvers was a milestone, a beautiful sanctuary where clubbers from Amsterdam, Paris, Lille, and Ibiza converged. But Patrick and Peter knew that to make a night truly unforgettable, you had to give the crowd something extra.

In this interview, he looks back at those wild, boundary-pushing spectacles—from bringing Flemish legend Eddy Wally on stage at 2 AM for a "Kitch in Paradise" theme, to a world champion trialist riding a motorbike down the club's famously narrow, iron staircase.
