Port Douglas has officially been named the #2 Best Town in Australia to Visit by Australian Traveller and awarded Best Adventure & Nature Town in the 100 Best Aussie Towns awards 🌴✨

It’s a massive win for the local community, small businesses, hospitality teams and the tourism operators who have worked hard to maintain that "tropical holiday greatness" (as the judges put it).

Being ranked #2 in the country is no small feat, especially considering it was only narrowly edged out by the "Emerging Town" winner, Bicheno, Tasmania.

It’s completely fitting that Port Douglas also swept the Best Adventure & Nature Town category. There aren't many places on Earth where you can stand in a World Heritage-listed rainforest (the Daintree) and look out over a World Heritage-listed coral reef (the Great Barrier Reef) in the same afternoon.

Personally, we find the "adventure" of choosing which cocktail to order at Lichi during sunset quite stressful, but we keep pushing through for the sake of the community. It’s a burden, but someone has to do it 🍹💅
