Flux Chef Glen Tilly has been creating killer cookies for me for quite some time now. In true Flux style he dares you to be different with creations which some may cringe at, yet when sampling the flavours, are surprised to find how tasty these creations are. Flavours such as Cheese and Vegemite, Pina Colada and Chilli have possibly alienated a few but pleasantly surprised a greater number. This week we are in search of some customer creativity. The challenge is to come up with a different creative flavour to put in to our cookies which will surprise and intrigue fellow customers. Glenn has explained to me that he won’t make anything boring. Now the competition is on to create a new flavour and entries will be judged by the chef himself. A prize will be awarded to the most creative and innovative idea and the winner will receive a free coffee as well as a sample of your inventive cookie. This week we are continuing with his Chilli cookies as well as a delicious Ginger and Sunflower Seed flavoured cookie. The next flavour to be baked will be Chocolate and Chip flavour. Sounds innocent enough but the richness of the dark chocolate contrasted by the crunchy salty crisps that are also in these tasty cookies really works well. Looking forward to hearing your creative and innovative suggestions….

This week we are welcoming Flying West back to the secondary grinder. Ben has roasted some top single origins for Flux once again. This time offering an excellent cup which has both crisp citrus acidity, and a subtle nuttiness. Next up will be a Costa Rican gem also roasted in Doonan by Ben West. Both of these origins are excellent as both black and white coffee so if your favourite cup is 3/4 latte or you fancy a short long black. I'm sure you will enjoy one of these specialty roasted coffees.

Well the renovations are finished and Flux Coffee Lounge has re-opened. Flux is now offering a selection of snacks baked daily. These include a few Gluten free and dairy free options. We also stock a selection of tea and are rotating roasters for our single origins regularly. This week we are stocking Boyd Cahill's Kenya Asaly. On Wednesday we are expecting the arrival of Clandestino's Bolivian for you to try. Looking forward to hear what you think of it and i am open to suggestions on your favourite single origins for the future.

One week down at Flux Coffee Lounge, so many visits from friends, family and loads of new customers. Thank you all for your patronage, looking forward to seeing you all again soon. This week we will have Boyd Cahill's Panama Hacienda, la Esmeralda in the grinder. It is a slightly darker roasted bean with hints of walnuts and vanilla. This single origin is light in body and light in acid, is excellent as a black coffee. We will also have the usual blend which is pouring golden shots as usual. Looking forward to seeing you for a wander on the river soon.
