Our Story

56 Bricks delivers the good vibes and the freshest hip hop and RnB beats on the southern end of Chapel Street, where an abundance of young urbanites flock to the area for a day of shopping and/or a night out with friends.

56 offers street seating for prime people-watching, BYO food (we recommend pizza from our friends next door at Topelz), a dance floor that gets you close and personal with a rotating line up of Melbourne’s best DJs, and an upstairs rec room with a fully-stocked bar for an extra layer of fun.

They showcase fresh artworks on the walls from local artists of Melbourne and surrounding areas and often collaborate with other local business to bring you exciting events such as food popups and listening parties.

They keep things simple at 56 - cocktails are out, but that’s how they keep the most outrageous happy hour on the block pumping every day, including weekends! From 4pm to 9pm, you can enjoy $6 house spirits and wines, $9 ciders, and the famous Pint O’Clock (4PM? $4 pints. 5PM? $5 pints! And so on until 9pm.) They encourage you to have a chat with the friendly bartenders - no mean mugs behind the bar, only smiles and boogies between serving drinks. Ask them about their favourite shots or to pick something fun to your tastes! A cheeky chili bomb or popcorn-infused vodka shot are a couple of our favs.
