Damian Mackey has been making whisky in Tasmania for twenty years. He has always looked to Ireland as an inspiration, and he created Tasmania’s original triple distilled single malt whisky brand, Mackey Whisky. Damian’s current passion is the production of a Tasmanian version of Ireland’s signature style: pot still whisky. Damian believes Tasmania’s premium grains, water and temperate climate make it the perfect place to breathe new-world life into this old style of whisky which was once the world’s favourite. Hunter Island Tasmanian Pot Still Whisky is made from a mixed mash bill containing malted and unmalted barley and oats, is triple distilled, and matured in fine oak casks. Damian is committed to producing products of excellence, and to sharing drams and stories with people who appreciate whisky and share his passion.
