42 something years ago we all started calling Sibyl’s Nightclub our home away from home. The dome room with her giant mirror ball over two levels, a massive dance floor & 3 fabulous bars was ours to rule. Dj’s Tim & Mick Evans gave us the time of our lives. What a time to be alive! Tell us something good!

On this day in 1985, the original release of the Kate Bush single “Running Up That Hill” peaked on the UK Singles Chart at #3 (August 31)

The song was originally released as the lead single from Bush's album “Hounds of Love”, reaching #3 on the UK Singles Chart and #30 on the US Billboard Hot 100, becoming her first US Top 40 hit.

Decades later in 2022, the song enjoyed a new lease of life after featuring in the Netflix sci-fi show “Stranger Things”, this time going all the way to #1.

With 44 years between her 1978 #1
“Wuthering Heights” and her 2022 #1 “Running Up That Hill”, Kate Bush claimed the record of the longest time taken for a single to reach the top of the charts, the longest-ever gap between #1 singles in UK chart history, and she became the oldest female artist to score a #1 on the UK Singles Chart, beating fellow icon Cher who was 52 when her hit 'Believe' topped the charts in 1998.

The song also reached #1 in Australia, Belgium, Ireland, Lithuania, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Sweden, and Switzerland.

Kate Bush also became the first female artist to have Top 12 hits across 6 separate decades:
the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s…
