When he’s on duty, expect bodies in motion and shirts in surrender. The alter ego of Shandy founder Thomas Parer, Sweaty Baby serves groove-heavy disco, house, camp pop edits and left-field heaters - equal parts joy, mischief and dancefloor democracy.

Thomas started SHANDY in 2019 with a dream: to build a q***r dance party that’s joyful, sweaty, and soaked in community care. Since then, he’s torn up venues across Magan-djin/Brisbane and the country from the dark dancefloor of BBL to the glittering lights of Sydney Mardi Gras After Party - with sets that lure you in and leave you soaked, smiling, and slightly out of breath 💃💦

Cutting her teeth at private parties spinning B-sides of melodic funk and disco, Cr Black Amex built her sound the old-fashioned way - crate by crate, side by side, needle to wax. Joan Thing is a vibrant part of Brisbane’s dance-floor ecosystem, shaped by years soaking up music across curated dance floors and open-air parties. Her sound is rooted in house, drifting through deep, techy, disco-leaning, acid-tinged, and Brazilian-flavoured rhythms. Her sets move with intention, where feel and flow are essential to creating playful, dynamic, and connected dance floors that keep bodies bumping.

💦 NEJMERE 💦

Nejmere (she/her) is a magandjin based dj/mixologist of everything soft and wet. You can expect her dance floor to be slick with sweat and full with all your crushes. Nejmere is an igniter of passions and of weaver of connections.

The Summer heat in Magan-djin brings with it a heady blend of sweltering humidity, lush sun-kissed memories, and a slight delirium that gets people all hot and bothered (in the good way).

As a healing balm, we’ve decided to throw a party to celebrate this moment: when Summer flings are in full force, the days are long and languorous, and all you need is a dip in the pool and a sausage in some bread to set the whole world right.

Shandy joins forces once again with echo & bounce to serve up a suburban backyard BBQ fantasy right in the heart of the city: snags (meat and veg), an above-ground pool to dunk yourself in, and a courtyard full of sweaty possibility - before descending downstairs at twilight for a proper, sweat-fuelled frenzy.

Soundtracking our journey from golden hour to full-bodied night sweats is a lush crew of local selectors:

Fresh off a mind-melting closing set at the Tropical Fruits NYD Pool Party on Bundjalung Country, ketia lands in Magan-djin via Lisbon and Berlin with a sound rooted in rave devotion, genre-fluid curiosity, and an unshakeable commitment to community on the dancefloor. Expect precision, groove, tenderness, and release - bangers only, always.

They build community the same way they build a set: with intention, curiosity, and a lot of heart.

This one’s a celebration of summer flings, long nights, and one of the last chances to dance with us before Shandy takes a well-earned hiatus soon 👀🕵️
