WHISKY WEDNESDAY

This Week's Pour: Glen Grant Gordon & MacPhail Mr George Legacy 1957

Some whiskies are old. Some whiskies are rare. This is something else entirely.

Distilled in 1957 and matured for an astonishing 64 years in oak before being bottled at a remarkable 56.1% ABV, this release forms part of the Mr George Legacy Series, a tribute to George Urquhart, the legendary Gordon & MacPhail figure whose vision helped shape modern Scotch whisky collecting.

Despite its age, this dram remains incredibly vibrant. Expect layers of rich stewed plums, decadent Cuban ci**rs, antique leather and warm spice, all carried by an intensity that belies its six decades in cask. The finish seems to go on forever.

Not many people will ever get the chance to taste a 64-year-old single malt. At Savile Row, you can.

Handpicked in Tasmania, Poured exclusively at Savile Row.

Savile Row gained access to the Overeem Distillery barrel store, a rare privilege, to select a range of cask types varying in age. An intimate tasting was set out to select a favoured cask. This single port cask #392 clearly stood out to the entire team and was bottled at 45%. This 5 year old Savile Row x Overeem single port cask release delivers spice, dried fruits, butterscotch, and rich caramel, dark chocolate, floc-rich flavour.
