During our event on Saturday in the parking lot of Reclaim Arcade, there was a beligerant man in attendance with a friend hurling racial slurs and threatening remarks and statements towards other patrons of our event. The cops were called and Reclaim Arcade staff were on the scene staking out and working to reinstate a safe environment for those in the surrounding area and at the event.
The friend of this man defended many of the slurs and statements by saying "they're just words" and denying the severity of the situation to avoid "getting in trouble".
We at Fascination Street condemn this disgusting, abhorrent behaviour and have a zero (0) tolerance policy towards racism, bigotry, harassment, and all of the behaviours exhibited by these individuals on Saturday.
Thank you to the people who brought this to our attention and thank you to the staff at Reclaim Arcade for being so on top of this and working hard to recreate a safe, welcoming environment. We deeply apologize to those who witnessed this or were affected by it personally.
Pt. 2 UPDATE: The primary perpetrator has been trespassed by the venue and is banned from returning, information regarding his defending friend is being gathered, but we and the venue are working towards a ban for him as well for not only defending the actions, but gaslighting the targeted individuals and downplaying the situation.
