Do I think it’s coincidence that Justin Timberlake releases his new album tomorrow when I’m about to Dj your Friday night dance in Connecticut? Not at all. Shout out to JT coordinating with my dj schedule. Tomorrow we be jamming to some fresh new beats.

I’m super excited for both my classes at MADjam 2024 - Mid-Atlantic Dance Jam this weekend. The first being a switch class. Back in 2011-12. A wonderful group of dancers asked me to choreograph a routine where leaders and followers switch roles back and forth. “DC Role Play” was their name and who knew they’d do many routines with countless members over the years. I was blessed to do several routines for the group. Here’s one video of some of the original members.

The second class will be something I’ve done in the past. There will be quite a bit of in class dancing to music as the focus will be to push yourself. Lots of classes have lots of talking and lots of technique. This class gets you moving and tries to implement all the fun things you’ve been told to try but didn’t feel you got enough class time to practice them. Let’s put the work in. Come sun L3 dancers for this Sunday morning push.

Thank you Kristen Shaw for having me as a part of Countdown. I loved being able to wear many hats and experience the event from the dj booth, behind the clipboard and behind the mic. Thank you to all my students who have let me be a part of their dance journey so far. Start off 2024 with a good start. I love doing video critiques. Jack and Jill’s, strictly swing videos, routines or just practice videos. How many of you are sitting on a few maybe a hundred video recordings of yourself? Get the most out of them. If you’ve enjoyed my critique sessions, you can get a lot out of a solid video critique. Who’s ready for Countdown Swing Boston 2023-2024? Jersey is representing for you kickoff party! This Thursday Glen and Jen starting off with the first workshop of the weekend and I’m gonna continue things off with my ever so popular critique! It’s interactive and everyone has a chance to learn. Even if you’re not a competitor, even if you don’t want to spotlight dance and just want to sit on the sidelines, and even if you’re already working on a million things.
