Midnight Asylum is going on hold for the next few months.
It may seem strange to do this as Covid restrictions are lifted but recent poor turnouts show we are clearly doing something wrong. We are working out what that is and we are not confident that allowing dancing will suddenly reverse our fortunes.
It would be easy to cry extenuating circumstances as Grant, Guy and myself do our best to draw a crowd but I don't accept that. Not every event concept is a winner and sometimes they fall from grace quickly as Midnight Asylum has. We want to put on the best event we can. So we are regrouping and hopefully in a few months we will return with something that works better.
To everyone who has supported us along the way we thank you for your patronage.
We would also like to thank Enigma Bar for giving us a place to play - they are keen to support alternative events in Adelaide and have been great to work with. If anyone has an idea for an event they want to try, talk to Enigma as they might give it a go. You never know if you don't ask.
See you in a few months
- Joe, Grant and the rest of the Midnight Asylum crew
