How I Terrified 100 Women Into Buying My Stuff.

It's Savvy Storytime!
When I first started Savvy, I had NO IDEA how to do ANYTHING related to marketing this business. I knew I could figure it out, but in the meantime, all I had were a bunch of marketing books, Google, and the brand new platform of Facebook.

And those resources told me that two things triggered sales:
S*x and Fear.

Of course, I wasn't going to use s*x to sell whipped shea butters to my salon clients and friends (those were my customers in those early days!), so I chose FEAR.

Now, in general, I wasn't a fearful person, and I didn't get triggered by fearmongering, especially when it came to things like ingredients in food and cosmetics.

Because when I say, there is NO END to the list of things that are killing us, I mean, seriously. No end. Even the organic ingredients are toxic. And did you know you allegedly have to CHEW your fresh juices to get the full benefit? For real, STAAAAP. But I digress...

I simply saw the expansive benefits of using real, raw ingredients, and knew others would love it, too.

But because I was running in a relatively new market- using real, raw ingredients in my skincare formulations, I had to educate almost everyone on how the products worked, as well as explain the textural differences of real ingredients Vs. synthetics. (Y'all remember those gritty shea butter days?! Thanks for sticking around! 😜)

Because YOU know now how different real ingredients can feel and look in cosmetics, but back in those day, NOBODY was using real oil on the body. It was silicones and petrolatum for days!

And since I was educating everyone I met regarding real, raw ingredients, I was being invited to speak to groups of people often.

One day, I was invited to speak to a group of MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers). They had two groups, about 70-ish women per group, all young mothers, and I had an audience with both of them. (Some of those women are still around, maybe reading this now, and remembering!)

So, I chose my topic title: "Check Your Labels".

I went into great depth as to not only HOW to read a cosmetic label, but HOW those synthetic ingredients impacted the body.

I was excited to walk into the room full of potential Savvy customers, take the microphone, and walk them through my full Power Point presentation on how to interpret food and cosmetic labels.

But instead, the presentation somehow morphed into a dire warning that their synthetic ingredients were ticking time bombs in their bodies and in their babies' bodies, too. I knew I went too far when I heard the audible gasp at my statement, "phthalates cross the placenta barrier, emasculating male babies." (It's true, though...look it up. Or maybe don't...)

When the presentation was over, the whole room of ladies RAN to my table to purchase every product I had.

I sold out that day.

In BOTH ways.

And I never once had to mention my products.

When we left, my niece who was helping me said, "You terrified them." And I knew she was right. The head of the organization asked me to tone it down for the next meeting. And I totally agreed:

That was no way to help people. And that's why I created Savvy in the first place: to solve a problem. To enhance beauty. To honor people's lives.

It was in those days that I quickly pivoted to be true to myself, my customers, and to the brand:

There is no fear in love. But PERFECT LOVE casts out ALL FEAR.

Through the years, I've been able to keep such a loyal following of customers because I know I don't have to show them all the things we are NOT.

And I don't have to threaten them with the fear of what could happen if they didn't "join us"...I mean, we aren't in a gang, right? 🤣

Instead, I focus on who Savvy Bohème IS, and the BEAUTY she shares with any person she touches. Literally.

I've learned that IDENTITY is a much more powerful motivator for action, and it comes from knowing WHO you are, and WHAT you're made from... It comes from "sameness".

It's that "sameness" that I've sought to connect with YOU throughout the years.

And so, you and I don't need to create a whole list of things we are against.(Although, if we did, I'd start and end with aluminum.😉)

Instead, I am creating a lifestyle filled with things I LOVE. And among those in that list is YOU.

Thank you for being here, for your recent or longtime support, and for your thoughts and cheers for Savvy! You're my greatest motivator to keep going.

To that, I say,

Perfect LOVE and Identity to you!

Love,

Keri 💋

(Quick couple of notes: just because you can't pronounce an ingredient doesn't make it bad for you. The scientific names of ingredients are often listed on a product label, like Butyrospermum Parkii (shea butter).

Also: everything is a chemical. Even air & water. So don't let any company tell you their products are "chemical free', or that they are better because you can pronounce all their ingredients. The proof is in the pudding, as they say.)

To The Woman Who Needs No Filter:
I remember the first time I saw her-

Forty-something, tall, lean frame, soft, loose, naturally gray curls cut into a French bob, cream linen shirt tucked gently into the front of her jeans, short manicured natural nails, and the most beautiful complexion I had ever seen- the kind where makeup would have masked her beauty.

She was standing in her kitchen, spreading fresh raspberry jam on a hot slice of fresh-baked bread, while watching her husband fill her drinking glass with ice. She popped the soda canister into the machine, pulled a lever, and I watched as bubbles filled the bottle. Then she poured freshly carbonated water over her ice, muddled a slice of lime and mint, infused her water with them, and gazed peacefully out her kitchen window as she enjoyed her refreshments.

In that moment, my nineteen-year-old self was struck by two observations:

One. I never knew food and drink could evoke such nourishingly tranquil emotions.

Two. What was it about this woman that made her the most beautiful woman I had ever seen?

She had that certain je ne sais quoi - "I don't know what"- that French women are so famous for. That unidentifiable quality that makes a person remarkably attractive and intriguing.

Through the years, as I got to know her better, I realized what it was:

While yes, she took impeccable care of her skin and body as a whole, she spent exponentially more time on her soul and spirit. Her highest value was her relationship with the Lord, followed by her love and care for her family, her home, and those around her.

She held a quiet strength about her, and carried an elegance of grace wherever she went.

When she was near, her presence was always wanted, noticed, and appreciated.

This is the type of beauty that I, as a 52-year-old woman, notice among a great many women in my life. I'm surrounded by them.

And in my business, this is the type of beauty that I have always formulated for. I call it Preeminent Beauty. It remains long after the person is gone.

While I always say my skincare products are formulated for all people and skin types, I also want to honor the women who have spent their primary focus cultivating their inner selves and caring for those around them, while perhaps wishing their outward appearance spoke the same message.

To you, I say: you already have it. That je ne sais quoi.

And your skin deserves to say so.

The Facial Trivium is three extremely effective products in two simple steps: a ritual as unhurried and intentional as you are. Nothing more than your skin needs. Nothing less than it deserves.

Right now the complete Facial Trivium set is yours for $93 — that's $50 off the regular price of $143, PLUS with free shipping.

To the woman who has always known who she is- it's time for your face to finally introduce her.

Savvy got a shout out in Travel + Leisure-
Best thing to do in Waxahachie!

Ps: this SATURDAY is our last day open on the square… but the lounge is FOR SALE! Message me for details!

03/13/2026

Tonight is the very last bedtime beauty session – the end of an era for Savvy. But the beginning of expansion – I’ll be able to be in mini places at once. For those of you who happen to be in the Waxahachie area join us tonight if you can.

03/05/2026

Ok: this one’s breaking my heart a little bit.

Savvy B has had many wonderful seasons over the past 15 years, but these past two years have been my favorite by-far.

But every season has a beginning, middle, and end, and every wise person knows when the season has ended, and when to make room for something NEW to begin.

This is the end of our time as a lounge in the square.

I knew when we signed the lease two years ago, this experience would be relatively short- lived… a next-step for Savvy’s expansion.

But in the meantime (or rather, the “fun time”,) I fell in love with this town, the square, my neighboring business peers, and the community. As the “end” signs started to appear last October, I fought hard against the thought of closing. It kept me at night up for many months.

Meanwhile, Savvy has been taking territory online, and now, in stores. It’s been begging for my attention in that area.

But by January, knowing our lease was almost up for renewal, I knew the time had come. Once I made the decision to close, I felt peace again.

In fact, In February, when I was standing at the top of our award-winning float, passing by so many of our beloved customers and friends with a bird's-eye view, I knew we were closing, and I knew that moment was a gift from God.

The song, "Fernando" was our theme song, and I held it close that day: "Though I never thought that we could lose, there's no regret. If I had to do the same again, I would, my friend, Fernando."

I am grateful for constant change and forward movement- if you arent growing, you’re shrinking. So I welcome the growth always- it’s how I flow- always forward… Onward.

But I didn’t expect to become so connected to the downtown square and the “characters” that have become fixtures and friends in our experience there. I love them all. You all- so many of you, daily, light my day. I’ve never had a bad day in that space. Not one.

I keep saying I’m gonna write a book about them (you) and the Waxahachie square. I wish you could have seen what I’ve seen- people of the very best kind- in full creative form. I wish everyone could see this side of humanity- it’s been so beautiful and enlarging.

My time at the Savvy Lounge has been priceless. (Well, technically, it cost me $150k plus two years of labor… but who’s counting? 🤪😂)

In that space, We’ve shared craft drinks with the very best ingredients, more meals than I can count, the best REAL skincare on the market, celebrations, skincare tips and education, wellness chats, music, music, so much music, poetry, art, storytelling, so many prayers and laying-of-hands for healing, worship nights, parades (we win them all!), business connections, young moms finding respite, teens needing a safe hangout, first dates, wedding receptions, friend connections, and so much more.
I think, really, the Lord gave us the lounge as a place to welcome, nourish, and inspire those who needed it for this time. And for me, because I needed it for this time.

And I can see how the Lord is expanding our platform to go beyond the square now.
So, I let go, and flow, willingly, but with a sadness of the loss of such a beautiful “home” for gathering. Because for many, that lounge is “home”.

But the Lord always provides.

So, until I write that book, here’s important information on the closing:

🧜‍♀️Our last day open to the public will be March 21 (fittingly, the first day of spring, and new birth,)

🧜🏾‍♀️We will have a GRAND CLOSING party all day that day. If you are around, please come see us.

🧜🏾‍♀️Im also planning one final Bedtime Beauty Session for next thursday. Grab your ticket. We’re talking HENNA FOR HAIR 101- by popular demand!

🧜🏿‍♀️If you havent booked your FLOW: 2-Hour Retreat, go ahead and treat yourself. It will probably be the last time I ever do it and it is transcendent. I promise – it’s worth every penny and you leave with my Made to Become Vision Building Workbook – those who know, know how great that alone is. The link for it is in the comments. You will be glad you did.

And Finally:

The interior decor- our famous “VIBE”- that Sara, Stephanie, my dad and uncle, family, friends, and I put together for that space would love to stay when I move out- it was built for that spot.
it would be my pleasure & legacy to have it remain.
There are two ways for it to stay:
Ifyou know someone who is looking for a space in the square, and our decor would fit their vibe, have them contact me.

Or, more interestingly,

If you know anyone who is wanting to own/start a business in the “spa sector”, has investment capital, and is looking for a turnkey business solution, have them message me as well. This option is 🔥🔥🔥🔥and can make someone a LOT of money. They can be up and running by May 1. I’ve done all the work and have the licenses.

Serious interests only – I don’t have time for looky-loos, or those who were just curious. I’m about to be moving very quickly, and cant waste time. 💋

I’ll say my goodbyes and thanks at a later time.
Until then,

Allons-Y!

All my Love and lots of tears,
Keri & Savvy Boheme

Pssst. Did you know there is a hidden spa inside Savvy Boheme right now? It’s like a Speakeasy Spa! You walk into the shop like normal. But behind a screen, the lights shift. Blue and red glow. Candles flicker. Infrared warmth fills the air. The outside world gets very quiet. Lymphatic treatment, infrared light. Slow, intentional massage. Arms and legs treated with Savvy Boheme products and elixirs. And a guided biblical meditation to align your spirit, soul, & body. No rushing. No talk. Just restoration. And a tool to move your momentum into your future. This is FLOW: The Two-Hour Retreat. A private two hour immersive retreat for body, soul, and spirit.Hidden in plain sight inside the Lounge. Only Two guests at a time. Prepaid.Limited Sundays and Mondays. And it only exists for four weeks. When this season closes, the spa disappears. In 2021, I hit a wall.

Not burnout.
Not stress.
A wall.

I had been strong for a long time. Faithful. Productive. Responsible. But true rest had quietly slipped away somewhere along the journey.

So I made a decision that felt almost irresponsible.

I stopped striving.

For weeks, I only did what restored me. Long walks. Long baths. Naps in the middle of the day. Silence. Prayer. Pages and pages of notes.

I wasn’t just resting.
I was relearning how to live and create from peace instead of pressure.

And in that space, something began to form.

A way of entering rest intentionally.
A way of guiding others into that same depth.
A rhythm that restored body, soul, and spirit together: a retreat was born.

Not as a service.
But as a 6-sensory experience.

Introducing FLOW: The Two-Hour Retreat

Guests have called it the deepest rest they have felt in years.

And it does not end when you leave the room.

Each guest receives the Made to Become Vision Building Workbook so the clarity and vision you access during your retreat continue unfolding at home.

For four weeks only, FLOW is held at the Savvy Boheme Lounge.

If your body feels tired
If your soul feels stretched
If you are craving real rest

This is your invitation.
