Ok: this one’s breaking my heart a little bit.
Savvy B has had many wonderful seasons over the past 15 years, but these past two years have been my favorite by-far.
But every season has a beginning, middle, and end, and every wise person knows when the season has ended, and when to make room for something NEW to begin.
This is the end of our time as a lounge in the square.
I knew when we signed the lease two years ago, this experience would be relatively short- lived… a next-step for Savvy’s expansion.
But in the meantime (or rather, the “fun time”,) I fell in love with this town, the square, my neighboring business peers, and the community. As the “end” signs started to appear last October, I fought hard against the thought of closing. It kept me at night up for many months.
Meanwhile, Savvy has been taking territory online, and now, in stores. It’s been begging for my attention in that area.
But by January, knowing our lease was almost up for renewal, I knew the time had come. Once I made the decision to close, I felt peace again.
In fact, In February, when I was standing at the top of our award-winning float, passing by so many of our beloved customers and friends with a bird's-eye view, I knew we were closing, and I knew that moment was a gift from God.
The song, "Fernando" was our theme song, and I held it close that day: "Though I never thought that we could lose, there's no regret. If I had to do the same again, I would, my friend, Fernando."
I am grateful for constant change and forward movement- if you arent growing, you’re shrinking. So I welcome the growth always- it’s how I flow- always forward… Onward.
But I didn’t expect to become so connected to the downtown square and the “characters” that have become fixtures and friends in our experience there. I love them all. You all- so many of you, daily, light my day. I’ve never had a bad day in that space. Not one.
I keep saying I’m gonna write a book about them (you) and the Waxahachie square. I wish you could have seen what I’ve seen- people of the very best kind- in full creative form. I wish everyone could see this side of humanity- it’s been so beautiful and enlarging.
My time at the Savvy Lounge has been priceless. (Well, technically, it cost me $150k plus two years of labor… but who’s counting? 🤪😂)
In that space, We’ve shared craft drinks with the very best ingredients, more meals than I can count, the best REAL skincare on the market, celebrations, skincare tips and education, wellness chats, music, music, so much music, poetry, art, storytelling, so many prayers and laying-of-hands for healing, worship nights, parades (we win them all!), business connections, young moms finding respite, teens needing a safe hangout, first dates, wedding receptions, friend connections, and so much more.
I think, really, the Lord gave us the lounge as a place to welcome, nourish, and inspire those who needed it for this time. And for me, because I needed it for this time.
And I can see how the Lord is expanding our platform to go beyond the square now.
So, I let go, and flow, willingly, but with a sadness of the loss of such a beautiful “home” for gathering. Because for many, that lounge is “home”.
But the Lord always provides.
So, until I write that book, here’s important information on the closing:
🧜♀️Our last day open to the public will be March 21 (fittingly, the first day of spring, and new birth,)
🧜🏾♀️We will have a GRAND CLOSING party all day that day. If you are around, please come see us.
🧜🏾♀️Im also planning one final Bedtime Beauty Session for next thursday. Grab your ticket. We’re talking HENNA FOR HAIR 101- by popular demand!
🧜🏿♀️If you havent booked your FLOW: 2-Hour Retreat, go ahead and treat yourself. It will probably be the last time I ever do it and it is transcendent. I promise – it’s worth every penny and you leave with my Made to Become Vision Building Workbook – those who know, know how great that alone is. The link for it is in the comments. You will be glad you did.
And Finally:
The interior decor- our famous “VIBE”- that Sara, Stephanie, my dad and uncle, family, friends, and I put together for that space would love to stay when I move out- it was built for that spot.
it would be my pleasure & legacy to have it remain.
There are two ways for it to stay:
Ifyou know someone who is looking for a space in the square, and our decor would fit their vibe, have them contact me.
Or, more interestingly,
If you know anyone who is wanting to own/start a business in the “spa sector”, has investment capital, and is looking for a turnkey business solution, have them message me as well. This option is 🔥🔥🔥🔥and can make someone a LOT of money. They can be up and running by May 1. I’ve done all the work and have the licenses.
Serious interests only – I don’t have time for looky-loos, or those who were just curious. I’m about to be moving very quickly, and cant waste time. 💋
I’ll say my goodbyes and thanks at a later time.
Until then,
Allons-Y!
All my Love and lots of tears,
Keri & Savvy Boheme
