The Jigger Engineer

The Jigger Engineer Welcome to the official page of The Jigger Engineer— Crafting cocktails with history, balance, and intention. Hi, I’m Patrick Anderson, aka The Jigger Engineer.

I specialize in mixing vintage drinks and modern classics, always focusing on balance, technique, and the story behind each pour. I’ve spent years working in hospitality, and somewhere along the way, I fell in love with the craft of cocktails—especially the classics. I take a lot of care in what I serve, not just in how it’s mixed but in the stories, ingredients, and intention behind it. I work Th

ursday nights at Harry’s Bar in downtown Watertown, and I’m available for private events and cocktail classes. I like to feature local spirits and coffee in my menus whenever I can, and I’ve been lucky to collaborate with folks at Glacial Lakes Distillery and Gather Coffee Shop for some fun and memorable nights. I don’t see this as just making drinks. For me, it’s about creating a moment—something thoughtful, balanced, and worth slowing down for.

Update from the Jigger Engineer Laboratory. Today, we begin a toasted sesame seed oil wash using Glacial Lakes Distillery, LLC vodka.

Once this is perfected, I'll use toasted or infused local sunflower seed oil to create a new cocktail with regional ingredients. Hopefully, we'll debut that in early summer.

A expect a few of you will be happy to see this news. I have a new piece of gear in my kit, a new cocktail smoker. I've finally found one where I don't have to risk playing with fire in old buildings! Works extremely well.

I'm not sure when I'll work this into the rotation, but watch for the newsletter if you are on my mailing list.

I've been struggling to focus on my day job, so I switched gears and decided to try something a little different. This one likely will never be on a menu, unless for a private party, as it includes Green Chartreuse (spendy and hard to get.)

This is the Industry Sour. It is complex and hard to describe, but a fun one to try. Not for the casual drinker.

Equal measures Green Chartreuse, Fernet-Branca, lime, and simple.

We'll be celebrating our annual winter gin series on February 12 and 26 at Dempseys Brewery Pub & Restaurant

A new entry for 2026 is the Maiden's Blush. Gin, Cointreau, Grenadine, fresh lemon juice and an Absinthe rinse. This is a good one from late 1800's.

Bright citrus and gentle sweetness, lifted by a quiet absinthe aroma.

Super sad news.

Super sad news.

It’s with heavy hearts that we share some bittersweet news. The Brewhouse location of Glacial Lakes Distillery will be closing its doors for good on February 2nd.

To everyone we’ve met along the way — thank you. Thank you for the memories, the laughter, the celebrations, the late nights, and the community you helped create here. You will be deeply missed. Our hope has always been that every person left a little better than when they arrived — whether with a great memory, a good time, or simply someone willing to listen.

While this chapter is ending, Glacial Lakes Distillery itself will continue operating. Unfortunately, in the current economic climate, we’re no longer able to sustainably maintain our downtown Brewhouse location.

As we head into our final week, keep an eye out for killer specials and join us one last time — including our Chili Cook-Off this Sunday with Orion and Full Circle Book Co-Op.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of our story. 💙

I just wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU to everyone who came out on a miserable winter night last week for cocktails at Dempseys! You make it amazing!

We are working on dates for January and I'll post the next event here. So watch this space.

Things coming up in February. Likely I'll be teaching a cocktail class again. PLUS, February means it's GINTER (Gin+Winter). Let me know if there is a gin cocktail you've been itching for! And before any of you crazy fans start yelling for the Coffee & Ci******es gin cocktail. Yes, yes, yes. Of course, I'll put that on the Ginter menu!
