We added another new dance to our Sunday night lineup, and this one brought plenty of honky-tonk attitude to the floor! 🤠🔥

Shawn introduced Turn This Town, a fun High Beginner line dance with a great country feel and music that makes you want to get up and move.

Turn This Town is one of those dances that has just enough challenge to keep everyone thinking while still being fun to learn and dance. The choreography works beautifully with the music and gives dancers a chance to practice timing, transitions, turns, and smooth movement around the floor. 🎶👢

Shawn broke the dance down section by section, giving everyone plenty of time to work through the choreography before putting all 32 counts together.

As always with a new teach, there were a few moments of thinking, “Which wall are we on now?” 😄 But with a little repetition, the pieces started coming together and everyone became more comfortable each time through.

That is what Sunday night classes are all about—trying something new, working through the tricky parts, helping each other along the way, and enjoying the accomplishment when the dance finally starts to click. ❤️💃🕺

Great job to everyone who jumped in and learned Turn This Town with Shawn!

We’re looking forward to bringing this one back onto the floor and watching everyone become even more comfortable with it over the next few weeks. 🤠🎶

🤠💃 SUNDAY NIGHT BEGINNER LINE DANCE RECAP! 🕺🎶

⏰ First Hour — Beginner Class

What a fun way to wrap up August! Sunday night’s beginner class featured six dances, a great variety of music, and plenty of opportunities to practice, learn, and enjoy time together on the dance floor. ❤️👢

The highlight of the evening was Shawn’s brand-new teach, Funktified! This upbeat Absolute Beginner dance brought a little country funk to the class with easy-to-follow steps, a catchy rhythm, and plenty of personality. 🎶🔥

The rest of the lineup included a terrific mix of recent favorites and familiar dances. From the tropical energy of Coco Na Na to the smooth finish of Glass of Wine, each dance gave everyone a chance to strengthen their basic steps, improve their timing, and build more confidence.

Glass of Wine brought the hour to a smooth and relaxing finish with easygoing music and movement that everyone could enjoy.

🤠💃 TUESDAY NIGHT DANCE RECAP! 🕺🎶

What a terrific Tuesday night! We had another wonderful group of dancers join us for an evening filled with Pattern Partner dancing, line dance lessons, familiar favorites, and plenty of open-request fun. ❤️🎶

We were especially happy to welcome several new couples and line dancers who joined us for the first time! It was wonderful to see our returning dancers helping them feel comfortable, answering questions, and encouraging them throughout the evening.

Most of this week’s lineup featured reviews, giving everyone another opportunity to strengthen their timing, refresh their memories, and become more confident with the choreography. The big highlight of the evening was Shawn’s first teach of a fun new dance—Lord Willing! 🤠👏

1️⃣ Love Somebody for 2 (P)

Originally taught on February 11, 2025, this upbeat Morgan Wallen favorite returned for another enjoyable review. Returning dancers refreshed their memories while our newer couples worked through its beginner-friendly partner choreography.

2️⃣ Be By You (P)

This meaningful dance was choreographed by our friend Bill Curtis in loving memory of his wife, Cindie. Its beautiful music and heartfelt choreography continue to make it a very special addition to our Pattern Partner lineup. ❤️

💃 LINE DANCE LESSONS 🕺

The line dance portion featured two recent favorites and one exciting new teach. Shawn guided everyone through the timing, footwork, turns, transitions, and styling while the class worked through each dance wall by wall.

1️⃣ Lord Willing — New Teach! 🙏🤠

Lord Willing was the evening’s brand-new teach, and what a fun dance it turned out to be!

Shawn broke the choreography down section by section, including the hand gestures and a really fun way to add the twerk that is part of the choreography. That playful section brought plenty of laughter, personality, and smiles to the dance floor! 😄👏

Everyone did a terrific job working through this newly released dance and becoming more comfortable with each repetition. We are already looking forward to dancing it again!

2️⃣ Kiss My Glass — Review 🍷

Kiss My Glass returned with its fun attitude, creative choreography, and extra touch of challenge. Each review helps the timing and transitions feel a little more natural!

3️⃣ Coconut Dreams — Review 🥥🌴

Choreographer: Rob Fowler (Spain) — July 2026
Music: Coconut Dreams — Cowboys and Indie

Coconut Dreams brought its relaxed tropical sound back to the floor. This cheerful beginner dance continues to be a fun selection for practicing timing, transitions, and four-wall movement.

🎶 OPEN-REQUEST HOUR

After the lessons wrapped up, the floor was opened for requests, extra practice, and familiar favorites!

Some dancers practiced the evening’s lessons again, while others requested dances they had been looking forward to enjoying. The final hour gave everyone a chance to relax, socialize, and share even more time on the dance floor.

Tuesday nights are about much more than counts, steps, and turns. They are about welcoming new dancers, supporting one another, building confidence, strengthening friendships, and creating memories with the wonderful people dancing has brought into our lives. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it another terrific evening. Whether you were learning your very first dance, reviewing a familiar favorite, helping another dancer, or simply enjoying the music and friendships, you helped make Tuesday night special!

Tuesday night brought another exciting new dance to the floor as Shawn introduced Lord Willing, a brand-new High Beginner line dance choreographed by Maddison Glover! 👢🎶

Danced to Mine, Lord Willing by Pynk Beard, this enjoyable 24-count dance combines a terrific country song with smooth, creative choreography. Its shorter count does not mean there is less to learn—the dance gave everyone a great opportunity to work on timing, transitions, direction changes, and its four-wall pattern.

Lord Willing was a terrific addition to our Tuesday-night lineup, and we look forward to bringing it back onto the floor for more practice and review!
