And another one!! Last night was picture perfect.

Michael came out, grabbed the mic, and conquered the whole field of singers like he had a karaoke cheat code. Yes, it’s a competition, but don’t get scared — you can still come out, sing, laugh, hang out, and not enter the contest.

Big shout out to DJ TEA, Big Jay, Lil J, and Dennis our photographer for keeping the night moving and the memories captured.

🚨🎤 ROUND 2 OF THE SUMMER KARAOKE CHALLENGE IS THIS THURSDAY! 🎤🚨

Last Thursday taught me a valuable lesson…

Trying to bartend, host karaoke, run a contest, entertain customers, answer questions, and be the owner all at the same time is apparently not a sustainable business model. 😂🍻

But what a night!

The singers showed up ready for battle, the crowd got into it, and someone walked out with cash, prizes, a trophy, and enough bragging rights to last an entire week.

So we’re making a few upgrades.

🎤 KDJ Tea is back to keep the singers organized and the show moving.

📋 Contest scoring has been handed over to Jason.

And because every great competition needs a little mystery…

😎 Jason assembles his own squad of judges each week.

That’s right.

Nobody knows who’s getting picked until it’s time.

Will they be karaoke experts?
Will they be music lovers?
Will they just enjoy watching contestants sweat while waiting for scores?

There’s just something special about watching 20 people walk in as strangers, fully commit to their characters, and somehow leave as professional actors, detectives, and lifelong friends. 😂

The pictures are fun, but they don’t come close to capturing the atmosphere, the laughs, the accusations, the plot twists, and the friendships that form by the end of the night.

DJ Golden is leading the charge with karaoke and DJ music between singers, which means there’s no awkward silence and no excuse for sitting at home arguing with Netflix about what to watch.

🚨🎤 WELL… THURSDAY NIGHT GOT REAL FAST. 🎤🚨

I thought I was ready for our first official Thursday Night Karaoke Challenge.

Turns out… I was about as prepared as someone who says, “I’m only stopping in for one drink.” 😂🍻

What started as a karaoke contest quickly turned into a full-blown battle for bragging rights, cash, prizes, and the title of Summer Karaoke Champion #1.

🏆 Congratulations to our first winner of the summer!

He strutted out of The Fresh Spot Lounge with:

Somewhere between running the contest, spinning the roulette wheel, keeping score, answering questions, running the lounge, and trying to remember who was singing next, I realized I might need a little backup. 🤦🏽‍♂️

So next week we’re leveling up.

Tonight is the night:
The Fresh Spot Lounge Thursday Night Karaoke Contest

Here are the rules:
Rules & Judging

Contest Start Time

* The competition begins promptly at 9:00 PM.
* Contestants have a 15-minute grace period to check in.
* No entries will be accepted after 9:15 PM.

Minimum Contest Requirement

* A minimum of five (5) contestants must be registered and present by 9:15 PM for the competition to be considered official.
* If fewer than five contestants are present, management reserves the right to postpone, modify, or cancel the competition for that evening.

Song Category Selection

* At 9:00 PM, DJ Fresh will spin the Fresh Spot Roulette Wheel to determine the night’s competition category.
* All contestants must perform a song that fits the selected category.
* The category will be announced before performances begin.

Eligibility

* Professional singers are not eligible to compete.
* Local Karaoke Jockeys (KJs) are not eligible to compete.
* Contestants must be 21 years of age or older and comply with all venue rules.

Judging Panel

* Three (3) judges will be selected from audience members who are not participating in the contest.
* Each judge will receive a physical scorecard to document their scores and comments.

Scoring System

Contestants will be scored on a 1–10 scale in each of the following categories:

🎤 Vocal Ability

* Pitch, timing, vocal control, and overall singing performance.

🌟 Stage Presence & Appearance

* Confidence, performance style, crowd command, costume effort, and overall presentation.

🙌 Crowd Engagement

* Ability to entertain, connect with the audience, and generate excitement.

The highest combined score from all judges will determine the winners.

Attendance Requirement

* Contestants must remain at The Fresh Spot Lounge from the start of the competition until the winners are announced.
* Any contestant who leaves before the final results are announced will be disqualified and forfeit any prizes or placement.

Sportsmanship

* Judges’ decisions are final.
* Unsportsmanlike conduct, harassment of judges, or disruption of the contest may result in disqualification. You will also be asked to exit the venue.

Most Important Rule

Have fun. This competition is designed to celebrate karaoke, great performances, and the amazing community that makes The Fresh Spot Lounge special.
