We’re excited to welcome Kyler Wong to Forever Country Dance Fest 2026 as a Country Swing Mentor! 🤠🔥

Born and raised in California, Kyler spent most of his life on the football field before making the jump into country dancing. Years of athletics gave him a strong foundation in footwork, body control, and structure—skills that translated quickly once he discovered partner dance.

Kyler started partner dancing in September 2024 and jumped into his first bar competition just ONE MONTH later. Since then, he’s hit the ground running, earning podium finishes at major events across Progressive, Slotted, and Country Swing. 🏆

He originally found his footing in Bar Coast and Slotted dancing, but it wasn’t long before he fell in love with One-Step Progressive and Country Swing.

For Kyler, though, dancing isn’t just about competition. He wants to bring good energy, have fun, and keep COUNTRY in country dancing—especially on the bar floors where so many dancers first discover the community. 🤠

As a mentor, Kyler brings the perspective of someone who remembers exactly what it feels like to be brand new, jump in headfirst, and discover just how quickly dance can become a passion.

We’re excited to have Kyler joining our Country Swing Mentor Team and can’t wait for y’all to learn, connect, and have some fun with him this November! 🔥

✨ WELCOME TO THE FOREVER COUNTRY DANCE FEST 2026 MENTOR TEAM — NOVA SCOTT! ✨

We’re excited to welcome Nova Scott to Forever Country Dance Fest 2026 as a Country Swing Mentor! 🤠🔥

An instructor with Country Nomads, Nova brings a unique perspective to the dance floor. She didn’t grow up dancing—instead, she spent much of her life as a competitive athlete before finding her way into the country dance community as a country bar dancer.

In 2025, Nova took the leap into competition and joined the Country Nomads staff later that same year. Since then, she’s jumped headfirst into the community, with opportunities to teach, mentor, serve on staff at multiple events, and support fellow dancers as an ambassador.

That journey shapes the way Nova approaches teaching today. She knows what it’s like to start without a traditional dance background, learn something completely new, and build confidence along the way. Her goal is to make Country Swing feel fun, approachable, and accessible while giving every dancer the tools and encouragement they need to grow.

As an FCDF mentor, Nova is ready to help dancers work through challenges, ask questions, build confidence, and find even more joy on the dance floor.

We’re excited to have Nova joining our Country Swing Mentor Team and can’t wait for y’all to learn and dance with her this November!

We’re not hosting an official pre-party at the venue this year, but if you’re getting into DFW early, you definitely don’t have to spend Thursday night sitting in your hotel room. 😉

Here are three DFW dance halls to check out depending on what kind of dancing you’re looking for:

👢 Maverick’s Dance Hall – The Colony
A huge open dance floor with plenty of room for Country Swing in the middle while Two-Step and other progressive dancers keep moving around the outside. There is limited Line Dancing, so this is a great option if partner dancing is your priority.

🤠 Cowboy’s Red River – Dallas
An iconic Texas dance hall with its signature race-track shaped floor, progressive dancing, and a live cover band. If you’re coming from out of town and want a true Texas country dance hall experience, put this one on your list.

💃 Electric Cowboy – Lewisville
Want a mix of Partner Dancing AND Line Dancing? Electric Cowboy is another great Thursday-night option where you can get plenty of both before Fest begins.

And LADIES… Maverick’s and Cowboy’s Red River both have Ladies’ Night on Thursday, so you get in FREE. 🔥

We’re excited to welcome Joe “Cup of Joe” Stephenson to the Forever Country Dance Fest 2026 Country Swing Mentor Team! 🤠🔥

Based in Arizona and part of the Country Bandits, Joe is no stranger to Forever Country. This November will mark his FOURTH time attending a Forever Country event—but his first time joining us as a mentor!

Over the years, Forever Country has become much more than another dance weekend for Joe. It’s where he’s met some of his closest friends, built lasting connections, and found a community that continues to leave him feeling inspired and encouraged every year.

Joe brings that same heart into his dancing. For him, dance is an act of worship… a way to celebrate joy, connection, community, and the gifts God has given us.

Now he gets to experience Forever Country from a whole new perspective, helping other dancers grow their Country Swing, build confidence, make connections, and hopefully discover some of the same community that has made these weekends so meaningful to him.

We’re excited to have Cup of Joe officially joining our mentor team for the first time and can’t wait to have him back on the dance floor with us this November!

✨ WELCOME TO THE FOREVER COUNTRY DANCE FEST 2026 MENTOR TEAM — REID BURTON! ✨

We’re excited to welcome Reid Burton to Forever Country Dance Fest 2026 as a Two-Step Mentor! 🤠

Reid began dancing in 2021 while serving as a Combat Medic in the U.S. Army. What started as a new hobby quickly became a passion—and after leaving the military, he took an unconventional next step: opening and operating his own country dance hall in Abilene, Texas.

After a year, Reid sold the bar and turned his focus toward learning, competing, and teaching Two-Step. Determined to grow, he spent countless weekends traveling to Austin and Dallas to train with some of the best dancers and instructors in the country. That commitment helped him progress quickly through the competitive ranks and continues to shape the way he approaches both his own dancing and the dancers he works with.

Reid believes great Two-Step starts with strong fundamentals, connection, and having fun along the way. While he brings a competitive mindset to his dancing, he never loses sight of what drew him to country dance in the first place—the social floor and the community built around it.

As an FCDF mentor, Reid is passionate about helping dancers develop the skills, confidence, and mindset to take their Two-Step to the next level—whatever that next level looks like for them.

We’re excited to welcome Reed to Forever Country Dance Fest 2026 as a Two-Step Mentor! 🤠

Originally from Virginia and now based in Austin, Texas, Reed’s country dance journey started with line dancing before a move to Texas introduced him to Progressive and Two-Step—and Two-Step quickly became a passion.

Since then, Reed has grown into an accomplished competitor and social dancer, earning multiple buckle titles in the Advanced division while continuing to develop his craft both on the competition floor and in the dance hall. 🏆

For Reed, great Two-Step isn’t just about patterns or winning competitions. It’s about connection, continuous learning, and having fun with your partner. He’s passionate about sharing the dance with others and helping more people discover what makes Two-Step—and the community surrounding it—so special.

As a mentor, Reed will bring that same mindset to FCDF, helping dancers strengthen their technique, work through challenges, build confidence, and become better connected social dancers.

✨ WELCOME TO THE FOREVER COUNTRY DANCE FEST 2026 MENTOR TEAM — KRISTA YOUNG! ✨
Country Swing Mentor

We’re excited to welcome Krista Young to Forever Country Dance Fest 2026 as a Country Swing Mentor!

Krista brings a lifetime of movement experience to the floor, with a background spanning dance, gymnastics, and cheerleading. Her training includes everything from ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, and ballroom to Country Swing, Line Dance, and West Coast Swing—giving her an incredibly well-rounded perspective on movement, partnership, and performance.

She’s spent nearly a decade developing her Country Swing and Line Dance skills and made an impressive climb to the WSDC All-Star division in just over a year of competing in West Coast Swing. Along the way, Krista has earned State and National championship titles and top placements across All-Star, Instructor, and Professional Country Swing and Line Dance divisions. 🏆🔥

When she’s not competing, Krista coaches high school cheer, teaches throughout Arizona, travels to dance events across the country, choreographs, and works one-on-one with dancers through private lessons.

Now she’s bringing all of that experience to the Forever Country Dance Fest Mentor Team, where dancers will have the opportunity to work with her in a more focused setting, ask questions, troubleshoot challenges, and get personalized feedback to help take their Country Swing to the next level.

We’re thrilled to have Krista mentoring with us in Dallas this November! 🤠❤️
