On a cold winter night in Washington DC,
Roxy ‘Cuss’ played xyr glockenspiels for all to hear and see.
They spent part of the winter embracing their trans,
To help engage the hearts of all TSO fans.
Their OG glockenspiel rang on with stockings and fire, while Roxy brought out her newest toy, the Bell Lyre.
As they wrap up 2025 to play somewhere into New Years Day, A Roxy ‘Cuss’Mas thank you to all, for letting me be so q***r, trans, and gay. And to my aged glockenspiels, thank you for letting me slay! 🤘🏼🏳️⚧️📍📍
Bit of a whirlwind to close out the year, and very eerie trying to make music with national guard on rotation. But also Roxy was playing music for about 9-10 hours in this cold yesterday while national guard members were watching videos on phones. While you can bet who had more people thanking them for service whatever that means, I can assure you that being a presence willing to play music and provide communal resources such as Narcan has made nearly every community I’ve been in safer than police or military ever have.
I also am thinking within this year, the extent of how much I’ve grown as a musician, a human, and how opening up my world to new places has helped fuel the most relative success I’ve had to date. I also can’t forget moments like getting dolled up by to play at Akron Civic Theater and Akron Pride earlier in the year, so of all the people to thank, I don’t know how far I would’ve gotten if I hadn’t made it out to your first open stage last January. And other props to and y’all helped fuel my flames at the intersection of Huron and Jefferson in Toledo as we are making Toledo home to some of the best damn street performance anyone can ever enjoy. I’m blanking on anyone else to specifically tag an to that I blame my lack of THC so far this morning.
I’m still a hot mess living out of their car struggling to do many things beyond playing music. But I also felt the transcendent shift to not only enjoy the journey in the present to shift from majority harassment while playing to majority affirming what I do and who I am. Anyone and everyone who has been around that process, thank you.
