Stephen Martyak launched studioTYAK LLC in the fall of 2012, establishing a multi-disciplinary design studio dedicated to enhancing the urban environment through the design of dynamic one-off restaurants, entertainment venues, and private residences. Within a few short months the design studio has made an imprint on the city with the opening of The Sinclair, an authentic rock club/restaurant hybrid in Harvard Square by the Bowery Presents out of New York and consulting chef Michael Schlow. Under Stephen’s leadership, the studio continues to develop its portfolio with projects including the tattooed OSushi in Harvard Square, the refreshed Da Vinci in the Back Bay, and the highly anticipated Boston Chops in the South End.
This Southern boy, music lover, and longtime foodie is foremost a designer, formally trained as an Architect, with experience in high-end commercial and residential architecture and interiors, as well as lighting, furniture, and graphic design. Stephen was recently named one of Boston’s Most Eligible Bachelors by the Improper Bostonian. He is also an associate member of the Boston Society of Architects, a founding member of Design Museum Boston, and adjunct faculty at the Boston Architectural College, where he has taught a multi-disciplinary design studio.
