Holiday Beverage Menu — Rooted in Brunswick’s Heritage and Community

Celebrate the season with a warm cup of Brunswick’s history and culture. Our holiday beverage menu brings together traditions old and new, each crafted with local partners and grounded in the stories that shape our town.

Glühwein (21+)
A classic nod to the German immigrants who founded Berlin/Brunswick. This traditional mulled wine is gently simmered with spices and served warm, offering a comforting taste of our early heritage.

Hot Spiced Cider (Alcohol Optional)
Made with locally produced McCutcheon’s cider, this family-friendly favorite can be enjoyed on its own or with an added spirited twist. A true Maryland seasonal staple.

Coquito (Alcohol Optional)
A beloved Puerto Rican holiday drink, offered in recognition of the new and the cultural center soon to call Brunswick home. Rich, smooth, and perfect for celebrating community.

Join us in raising a glass—non-alcoholic or spirited—to the diverse traditions that make Brunswick unique.

One of downtown Brunswick’s most beloved historic buildings will open its doors to all as we launch the holiday season on 6 December. All who love board games, cozy, spiced drinks, and holiday cheer are welcome!

Team up with a partner to pull off a diamond heist in Tiny Laser Heist, compete for resources in classics like Catan or Carcassonne, or build a path and fend off pesky dragons with your kids in Dragon Dash. Feeling even more adventurous? Have fun with dozens of other games for you, your family, and your friends.

And of course, enjoy delicious hot seasonal beverages like mulled German wine, Puerto Rican coquito, or hot Frederick cider in the inviting atmosphere of the former Dr. Horine Pharmacy and Soda Fountain Shop, a space that has welcomed generations in Brunswick.

Spend the afternoon in its beautiful historic interior, surrounded by good company, as we kick off the final countdown to the winter holidays.

Open from 12 PM to 6 PM. All ages are welcome.

It is getting colder every day, so now is a good time to look back on warm moments we shared at our Day of the Dead Party in downtown Brunswick.

Our friend Ron Batcher Photography has finalized his gallery of photos from the event https://ronbatcherphotography.shootproof.com/gallery/theradicaldayofthedead/ While this post features a few of them, you can find many more on Ron's website and order the ones you like to gift to your family and friends or hang on the wall and admire. Please contact [email protected] for more details. Enjoy remembering the day, and we look forward to our next event. More coming soon!

One of the most fun parts of preparing for Saturday's event was educating ourselves more about Mexican music across the ages, as well as music from other countries and cultures that have been popular on the Mexican cóctel scene. Exploring the rich musical history and realizing how we were only scratching the surface, trying to find a blend of classic and modern and everything in between, was its own adventure!

So have a listen and relive the fun we had together Saturday at the Day of the Dead Party!

The Day of the Dead Party in downtown Brunswick was a great success! Mexican cocktails, delicious food, colorful costumes and pictures, and great company yesterday!

La carreta tacos y tortas was a complete hit. If you missed them, or you just can't get enough, definitely visit their Middletown location, or follow their page to catch their food truck all over Frederick County.

Maple & Rye Bakery baked up delicious pan de mu**to, and thanks to your contributions, we were able to raise $120 together from sales for The Brunswick Beacon.

Thank you again to all who joined the party yesterday! Make sure to follow us on Instagram or Facebook to stay tuned for upcoming events as we scout for new locations for the winter - if we go inside, it won't be to hibernate!
