Douglas Sherman, Takaya Nagase, and Yuji Kawasaki are three self-described 'music geeks' who serendipitously crossed paths at David Mancuso’s iconic Loft party in New York City. Their shared passion for music became the foundation of a lasting friendship, leading them to establish JOY, an underground party founded in the tradition and principles of the Loft over 17 years ago. As musical hosts, they honed their skills, playing records in a unique sequential format that became synonymous whenever they performed together.
